The newest generation of Porsche’s track‑focused 911 GT3 RS has turned heads in Ho Chi Minh City, arriving in the brand’s classic Guards Red hue. It’s only the third RS spotted on Vietnamese roads, but already it’s generating buzz among collectors.

Design that Borrows from the Track
Unveiled in August 2022, the 992‑generation GT3 RS draws inspiration from Porsche’s 911 GT3 R and 911 RSR race cars. The wide‑body shell features aggressive carbon‑fiber cut‑outs, a front‑lid cooling system taken straight from the racetrack, and an aerodynamic package that out‑sizes the standard 911 Carrera (4,572 × 1,900 × 1,322 mm, 2,457 mm wheelbase).

Performance Highlights
Under the hood sits a naturally aspirated 4.0‑litre flat‑six delivering 525 hp and 465 Nm of torque, paired with a 7‑speed PDK gearbox and rear‑wheel drive. The car rockets from 0‑100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and tops out at 296 km/h. On the Nürburgring Nordschleife it clocked a lap time of 6:44.848, making it the third‑fastest road‑legal Porsche of its era.

Innovative active aerodynamics, including an electrically actuated rear wing similar to Formula 1 DRS, generate up to 409 kg of downforce at 200 km/h and a staggering 860 kg at 285 km/h.

Interior and Customisation
The cabin blends race‑car clarity with everyday usability. Standard bucket seats are wrapped in carbon‑fiber, while an optional Adaptive Sports seat offers 18‑way electric adjustments. Drivers benefit from a multifunction steering wheel with rotary knobs for drive mode, electronic balance and traction control.

Exterior finishing options—Pyro Red, Satin Black or Indigo Blue—add roughly VND 40 million to the base price, but the original owner chose the iconic Guards Red, complete with the historic “GT3 RS” racing badge dating back to 2003.

Pricing and Availability in Vietnam
Officially listed at VND 17.69 billion (about USD 720,000), a fully loaded GT3 RS can easily surpass VND 20 billion. To date, Znews reports at least four units have been imported: one in black, two in white and the current Guards Red example.

While the high‑performance Weissach Package—featuring additional carbon‑fiber exterior elements and a front‑and‑rear chassis balance bar—costs an extra VND 2.7 billion, the showcased model does not include it.
