German automaker Porsche has expanded its all‑electric SUV family with the brand‑new Cayenne S Electric. Positioned between the standard Cayenne Electric and the high‑performance Turbo Electric, the S model offers a blend of power, practicality and premium styling.

Powertrain and Performance

The Cayenne S Electric is powered by two permanent‑magnet synchronous motors – one on each axle – delivering a permanent all‑wheel‑drive system. Together they generate 536 horsepower (398 kW) and can surge to 657 hp when the Launch Control function is activated. Porsche claims a 0–97 km/h (0–60 mph) sprint in just 3.6 seconds, with a top speed capped at 250 km/h (155 mph).

Battery and Charging

Energy comes from a high‑voltage 113 kWh battery pack, paired with a 400 kW fast‑charging capability. The vehicle is equipped with a NACS connector on the driver’s side and a J1772 port for passengers, plus a CCS adapter for broader compatibility. Using an appropriate DC fast‑charger, the Cayenne S can charge from 10 % to 80 % in roughly 16 minutes.

Design and Styling Cues

Distinct visual touches set the S model apart. Metallic Volcano‑gray highlights adorn the front and rear bumpers, while 21‑inch Cayenne S Aero wheels add a sporty stance. Subtle aerodynamic tweaks improve efficiency without sacrificing the classic Porsche silhouette.

Technology and Optional Upgrades

Buyers can opt for performance‑enhancing extras such as torque‑vectoring, active suspension, ceramic brakes, and the Sport Chrono package with a push‑to‑pass button. The latter delivers an extra 120 hp for up to 10 seconds, perfect for overtaking maneuvers.

Personalisation and Interior

The Cayenne S Electric offers a wide palette of customisation – 13 exterior paint colours and multiple interior trim options. A new “Style” cabin package combines two‑tone black/green upholstery with special‑painted aluminium accents for a fresh, contemporary feel.

Pricing and Availability

In the United States, the Cayenne S Electric starts at $126,300, roughly $17,300 more than the base Cayenne Electric. Deliveries are slated to begin this summer, giving early adopters a chance to experience Porsche’s newest electric luxury SUV.

Looking Ahead

The S model fills a crucial gap in Porsche’s electric lineup, offering a middle ground between efficiency and outright performance. Porsche has also confirmed a Cayenne Turbo Electric with a staggering 1,139 hp is on the way, expected to arrive later this summer.

Stay tuned for more updates on availability, incentives and how the Cayenne S Electric fits into the wider Porsche EV strategy.
