Vietnam has welcomed at least two brand‑new Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992.1 generation) models, each with a starting price of VND 17.69 billion (about $760,000). Delivered to exclusive collectors on 13‑14 January, the new GT3 RS brings race‑track technology to the streets.
Track‑Inspired Technology
The 992.1 GT3 RS inherits aerodynamics and cooling solutions from Porsche’s 911 RSR and GT3 R race cars. To maximise downforce and brake cooling, the chassis sacrifices luggage space and adds two dedicated air vents on the hood.
Wheels and Tyres
Standard wheels are forged aluminium – 20‑inch at the front and 21‑inch at the rear. Buyers can opt for the striking Pyro Red finish for an extra VND 40 million, or upgrade to lightweight magnesium wheels when selecting the Weissach Package.
Weissach Package – The Ultimate Upgrade
Priced at nearly VND 2.7 billion, the Weissach Package adds extensive carbon‑fibre exterior components, magnesium gear‑shift levers, and chassis stabilisers on both axles. It also includes an electronically controlled DRS‑style rear wing, the first time this feature appears higher than the bonnet on a road‑legal 911.
Performance Gains
- At 200 km/h the car generates 409 kg of aerodynamic downforce – double the previous GT3 RS.
- At 285 km/h the downforce rises to 860 kg.

Driver‑Focused Interior
The cockpit comes standard with carbon‑fibre bucket seats, while an optional 18‑position Adaptive Sports seat adds electric adjustment. The steering wheel features dedicated rotary switches for drive mode, electronic balance and traction control, as well as suspension settings.
Safety and Sport Packages
- Clubsport Package – adds a black or Guards Red roll‑cage and a six‑point harness.
- Optional race‑spec seat belts and additional bespoke trim options.
Powertrain
Under the hood sits a naturally aspirated 4.0‑litre flat‑six boxer engine delivering 525 hp at 8,400 rpm and 465 Nm of torque. Power reaches the wheels through a 7‑speed PDK dual‑clutch gearbox with a short final drive. A traditional manual gearbox is available on the 911 S/T variant.
Track Record
On Porsche’s own Nürburgring Nordschleife, the standard GT3 RS laps the 20.6‑km circuit in 6:44.848, and the longer 20.832‑km layout in 6:49.328.
Future Outlook
The 992.1 model launched worldwide in August 2022. Porsche hints that the upcoming 992.2 iteration may incorporate T‑Hybrid technology, blending electric assistance with the classic naturally aspirated engine.
Availability in Vietnam
Both GT3 RS units arrived in September 2025 alongside a Porsche 911 Spirit 70 priced above VND 19.5 billion, confirming Porsche’s commitment to the Vietnamese ultra‑luxury market.
