Honda Philippines has officially announced the price of the 2026 Honda Prelude, marking the sports coupe’s long-awaited return to the Asian market.

Official pricing and currency conversion
The dealer disclosed a price of ₱3.498 million for the Prelude’s initial release. Converting that amount yields roughly 1.58 billion Vietnamese đông (VND), placing the model well above the price tags of rivals such as the Mazda MX-5 and Subaru BRZ in both Vietnam and the Philippines.

Powertrain and performance
The 2026 Prelude is equipped with a hybrid drivetrain that pairs a 2.0-litre gasoline engine with an electric motor and an e-CVT featuring Honda’s S+ Shift technology. The petrol engine delivers about 139 hp and 182 Nm of torque, while the electric motor adds 181 hp and a peak torque of 315 Nm from low‑rpm ranges, giving the car a stronger thrust than the standard Civic e:HEV.

Design, colour options and extra costs
The Philippines market will receive a single trim, offered in five paint choices:

- Crystal Black Pearl
- Meteoroid Gray Metallic
- Racing Blue Pearl
- Rallye Red
- Moonlit White Pearl (approx. ₱9 million or ≈ 9 million VND extra)
Shared engineering with the Civic Type R
Under the hood, the Prelude borrows key chassis and suspension components from the high-performance Civic Type R, including Brembö brakes and a dual-axis front multi-link setup. This combination aims to deliver a nimble, well‑controlled driving experience reminiscent of the original Prelude heritage.

What does this mean for Vietnamese buyers?
Rumors have circulated that Honda Vietnam may eventually import the Prelude for the local market. While no official launch date has been announced, the steep price point suggests that the model will target enthusiasts willing to pay a premium for a modern hybrid sports coupe.
