The 2026 Mitsubishi Triton now sports Yamaha performance shocks that cut vibration and boost cabin comfort. Learn more about the upgrades today!

Mitsubishi has unveiled the details of the upgraded 2026 Triton, initially rolling out in Japan with plans to reach international markets—including Vietnam—by mid‑year. The headline change? A high‑performance shock absorber system borrowed from the brand’s rally‑bred AXCR edition.

Yamaha‑Sourced Shock System

Both the front and rear of the new Triton now feature premium shock absorbers supplied by Yamaha Motor. These units, once exclusive to luxury marques like Toyota and Lexus, are designed to drastically reduce road‑induced vibration and engine harshness.

Why It Matters: Comfort and Fatigue Reduction

The upgrade targets one of the pickup’s long‑standing weak points: cabin comfort during long journeys or off‑road adventures. By damping vibrations from uneven surfaces and the powertrain, passengers experience less fatigue and a lower risk of motion‑sickness, especially on extended trips.

Suspension Tuning and Structural Enhancements

Alongside the Yamaha shocks, Mitsubishi has re‑engineered the front suspension geometry and reinforced key chassis mounts. The result is a more stable ride, smoother handling over speed bumps, and a noticeable drop in cabin shake.

Refined Interior Touches

The GSR trim receives subtle interior upgrades: darker‑toned door‑handle inserts and refined trim around the steering column give the cabin a more upscale, cohesive feel. Notably, the sporty rear‑bed spoiler has been removed, offering owners greater freedom to customise the back of the truck with personal accessories.

Pricing and Availability

In Japan, the top‑spec double‑cab, four‑wheel‑drive GSR version starts at ¥5,518,700 (about $35,000 or ≈ 935 million VND). Mitsubishi has discontinued the GLS and Black Edition models in that market to focus on the flagship GSR line.

Global rollout of the enhanced Triton is expected later this year, bringing Yamaha’s rally‑inspired suspension technology to pickup enthusiasts worldwide.
