Toyota Thailand has unveiled the 2026 Corolla Cross, marking a decisive shift toward a fully hybrid lineup. The combustion‑engine‑only version is gone, leaving four hybrid trims that combine a 1.8‑litre petrol engine with an electric motor.

Trim lineup and pricing

The Thai market will receive:

  • HEV Smart – THB 989,000
  • HEV Premium – THB 1,094,000
  • HEV Premium Luxury – THB 1,204,000
  • HEV GR Sport – THB 1,254,000

HEV Smart replaces the outgoing 1.8‑L gasoline model, offering the most affordable entry point for the 2026 range.

Hybrid powertrain

The Corolla Cross uses Toyota’s proven hybrid system: a 1.8‑L engine delivering 97 hp and 142 Nm, paired with a 72‑hp electric motor that adds 163 Nm. Power is sent through an e‑CVT to front‑wheel drive, achieving roughly 23.8 km/L (56 mpg) and meeting Euro 6 emissions standards.

Sport‑focused GR Sport edition

The GR Sport trim adds aggressive styling – sharper front and rear bumpers, gun‑metal paint accents, and the iconic GR badge – giving the compact SUV a more dynamic presence.

Cabin technology and comfort

Inside, the Corolla Cross steps up with a 10.1‑inch infotainment screen equipped with the latest Toyota Multimedia platform, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and optional wireless charging. Standard audio is a six‑speaker setup, with a premium nine‑speaker JBL system available on higher trims.

Climate comfort includes dual‑zone automatic A/C, USB‑C ports for front and rear passengers, and a flexible 60:40 rear‑seat fold‑flat layout that expands cargo capacity.

Safety suite

All models come with Toyota Safety Sense, featuring pre‑collision warning with emergency braking, dynamic radar cruise control, lane‑departure alert, lane‑keeping assist, and automatic high‑beam headlights. Additional safety tech such as ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill‑start assist, blind‑spot monitoring and rear‑cross‑traffic alert are also standard on higher trims.

Strategic market shift

By making the Corolla Cross an all‑hybrid model, Toyota is aligning with Southeast Asia’s growing demand for fuel‑efficient, low‑emission vehicles. The addition of the budget‑friendly HEV Smart opens the range to a wider audience, while the sporty GR Sport targets younger, style‑conscious urban drivers.
