Production Milestone
On December 12, the joint venture JMC‑Ford rolled the first Ford Bronco EV off its assembly line in Nanyang, Jiangxi. It marked the 200,000th vehicle produced at the plant and the official launch of the model for the Chinese market.
Pricing and Availability
The Bronco EV will be sold exclusively in China, starting at ¥229,800 (about $32,560) and topping out at ¥282,800 (approximately $40,070). Pre‑orders opened on November 18, with both pure‑electric (BEV) and extended‑range (EREV) versions available.
Design and Dimensions
True to its heritage, the Bronco EV keeps the iconic boxy silhouette, bold Bronco lettering on the front, oversized bumpers and protective plastic wheel‑arch trims. Hidden door handles and a rear‑door spare‑wheel compartment add a modern touch.

Interior Technology
The cabin features a 15.6‑inch touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster and a 7‑inch augmented‑reality HUD. Additional comforts include a 7.5‑liter fridge, a 21‑speaker audio system, ten airbags and a panoramic glass roof. The SUV seats five passengers.
Powertrains
BEV version: Dual electric motors deliver a combined 445 hp. A 105.4 kWh LFP battery provides an estimated 650 km (404 mi) range.
EREV version: A 1.5‑litre gasoline engine (148 hp) acts as a generator for a 43.7 kWh BYD Blade battery. Together with two electric motors (416 hp total) the plug‑in hybrid achieves a 220 km (137 mi) electric‑only range and a combined range of up to 1,220 km (758 mi).
Factory and Investment
The Nanyang plant operates at 98 % automation with 600 industrial robots and an annual capacity of 300,000 vehicles, assembling Ford, Lincoln and JMC models. This year Ford and JMC invested ¥300 million (US$42.5 million) to upgrade the line for EV production.
Market Position
The Bronco EV enters a fast‑growing NEV crossover segment, competing with Chinese newcomers such as the Aito M8, Li Auto L9 and Denza N9.
Future Plans
While the electric Bronco will stay China‑only, Ford is preparing a plug‑in hybrid Bronco for the European market, to be built at its Valencia plant in Spain. No plans have been announced for a U.S. electric Bronco.
