Discover the Mibot, a revolutionary new electric vehicle from KG Motors taking Japan by storm! Learn more and explore the future of urban mobility.
While established Japanese automotive giants like Toyota, Honda, and Nissan have been relatively slow to embrace the electric vehicle (EV) revolution, a new player is quietly making waves. KG Motors, a previously unknown brand, is gaining recognition thanks to its innovative and affordable electric vehicle – the Mibot.
Surging Demand for the Mibot
Following the opening of pre-orders in Japan during the fall of 2024, the Mibot quickly garnered significant attention, securing over 1,000 reservations within its first month. As of May 2025, KG Motors boasts an impressive 2,250 pre-orders, exceeding half of its initial target of 3,300 deliveries planned for March 2027.

Affordability is Key
The Mibot’s appeal lies significantly in its price point. At just 1 million yen (approximately $7,000 USD), it costs less than half the price of Japan’s current best-selling EV, the Nissan Sakura. This affordability is a major draw for consumers seeking a practical and eco-friendly transportation solution.
First Deliveries & Production Ramp-Up
KG Motors recently announced the delivery of its first Mibot on December 30, 2025 – ahead of schedule. The company emphasizes that, while still in the pre-production phase, these early vehicles meet the same quality standards as those slated for mass production.
Large-scale production is slated to begin in April, with limited deliveries continuing until then. This phased approach allows KG Motors to refine its processes and ensure a smooth transition to full-scale manufacturing.

Compact Design, Urban Focus
The Mibot’s dimensions – 2,490 mm long, 1,130 mm wide, and 1,465 mm high, with a wheelbase of 1,610 mm – are comparable to a golf cart. This compact size, combined with its lightweight construction and low maintenance costs, makes it ideally suited for daily commutes and navigating crowded city streets.
