Kia has just rolled out the EV2, its first compact all‑electric SUV, at the 2026 Brussels International Motor Show. At a projected price of around €30,000, the EV2 is set to become the most budget‑friendly model in Kia’s global EV lineup.

Design that Marries Modernity and Robustness
Measuring just 4,100 mm in length, the EV2 inherits the sharp, angular styling language seen on Kia’s larger EV3 and EV5 siblings. A distinctive vertical light strip crowns the front, while the squared‑off rear end features metallic cladding on the bumper and a centrally placed Kia badge.

Wheel and Body Options
The vehicle sits on a strong wheel arch and comes with 16‑ to 19‑inch multi‑spoke alloy wheels, depending on the trim level.

Tech‑Focused Interior
Inside, the EV2 surprises with a three‑screen cockpit powered by Kia’s cost‑efficient ccNC operating system. Despite its lower price, the system still supports over‑the‑air updates, digital key access, and remote parking assistance.

All seats are upholstered in high‑quality synthetic leather. Buyers can choose between a 4‑seat or 5‑seat layout; the rear bench slides and reclines to maximise legroom or expand the cargo volume up to 403 litres.

Powertrain and Range
The standard model is equipped with a 42.2 kWh battery and a 145 hp electric motor, delivering an estimated WLTP range of about 317 km per charge. A higher‑capacity 61 kWh pack – paired with a sportier GT‑Line edition – will arrive later, boosting the range to roughly 448 km.

Production and Market Focus
The EV2 is built in Kia’s Slovakian plant and is destined exclusively for the European market. With tightening EU regulations on internal‑combustion engines, the EV2’s affordable price and practical city‑car dimensions position it as a potential game‑changer for urban drivers.

What’s Next?
European customers can expect orders to open later this year, with deliveries slated for early 2027. Stay tuned for test‑drive events and special launch incentives.
