Kia has unveiled its latest all‑electric compact utility vehicle, the EV2, at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show. Positioned below the larger EV3 and EV5 models, the EV2 combines practical dimensions with enough space for daily family use or flexible cargo needs.
Design and Dimensions
Measuring just over 4 m in length, the EV2 is slightly longer than Vietnam’s VF 5 but retains a sturdy, upright stance. Its design features vertical LED lighting, a wide wheel arch, and an athletic silhouette that balances dynamic looks with everyday functionality. Buyers can choose from 16‑ to 19‑inch alloy wheels, and a sport‑inspired GT‑Line trim adds a bolder aesthetic.
Powertrain and Battery Options
Under the front hood sits a single electric motor delivering about 145 hp to the front wheels. Kia offers two battery packs:
- 42.2 kWh battery – up to 317 km (197 mi) on a single charge.
- 61 kWh battery – up to 448 km (278 mi) on a single charge.
Both options support fast‑charging, making the EV2 suitable for city commutes and longer trips alike.
Interior and Technology
The cabin centers on a three‑screen layout: a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment display, and a dedicated climate‑control screen. While Kia has not disclosed exact dimensions, the arrangement promises a modern, driver‑focused experience. Seating can be configured for four or five occupants, with rear seats that slide and fold to expand the cargo area to roughly 403 L.
Pricing and Availability
Industry analysts estimate the Kia EV2 will be priced around €30,000 (approximately 920 million VND). The model will roll out in select European markets later this year, with plans to expand to other regions, including Asia, in 2027.
