The iconic Lamborghini Revuelto, the company’s first plug‑in hybrid supercar, has hit an unexpected snag. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a recall for seven 2024‑2025 models after a rare software glitch could disable the rear‑view camera display.

Recall Details

According to the NHTSA, the affected Revuelto units may fail to show the image from the rear‑camera on the infotainment screen. Without this visual aid, the cars do not meet federal safety standards for rear visibility.

Technical Cause

The problem occurs when a driver shifts into reverse (R) within one second of turning the engine on or off. In that narrow time window, the vehicle’s central electronic control unit (ECU) can skip the logic that routes the camera feed to the screen, leaving the display blank.

Fix and Owner Notification

Lamborghini first identified the issue in May 2025 and launched an internal investigation. By early March, the manufacturer traced the fault to a specific software version and vehicle configuration. Only seven Revuelto cars in the United States fall within the recall scope, and all are slated for a simple over‑the‑air software update at authorized dealerships.

Owners will receive formal notification on March 26, advising them to schedule a service appointment where technicians will install the corrected firmware.

About the Lamborghini Revuelto

The Revuelto replaces the Aventador as Lamborghini’s flagship. It boasts a naturally‑aspirated 6.5‑liter V12 combined with electric motors for a total output of 1,015 hp, propelling the car from 0‑100 km/h (0‑62 mph) in just 2.5 seconds and topping out over 350 km/h (217 mph). The hybrid powertrain is paired with a seven‑speed ISR automated manual transmission.

Priced at roughly €400,000 (about $440,000) in Europe, the Revuelto launched in Vietnam in March 2024 with a starting price of VND 44 billion. A striking yellow example was recently delivered to a collector in Ho Chi Minh City.

While the issue is minor and limited in scope, it serves as a reminder that even the most advanced supercars can encounter software hiccups. Prompt detection and a swift recall help keep drivers safe and preserve the brand’s reputation for engineering excellence.
