What’s wrong with the parking‑assist system?

All recalled vehicles are equipped with a parking‑assist controller that forms part of the Panoramic View Monitor (PVM). A software fault can cause the rear‑view image to freeze for a few seconds while reversing, or to disappear altogether when the electronic lock is engaged the next time. This temporary loss of visual feedback can increase the risk of a rear‑end collision.

How to find out if your Lexus is affected

Owners can verify eligibility by visiting Toyota’s official recall‑check page and entering the 17‑character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). For most Lexus SUVs and MPVs the VIN is stamped on the front‑right wheel well; for sedans it is usually located beneath the rear seat or on a label inside the trunk.

What to do next

If your VIN appears in the list, schedule a visit to an authorised Lexus dealer. The inspection and software update take roughly 45–60 minutes and are completely free of charge.

Updating the parking‑assist software is essential to keep the safety systems of larger Lexus models, such as the RX and LX, operating reliably. Prompt service helps avoid unnecessary rear‑collision risks during everyday driving.
