First Look at the Mazda CX‑6e
At the Brussels Motor Show 2026, Mazda unveiled the CX‑6e, its first pure‑electric compact crossover aimed at European buyers. Developed in partnership with China’s Changan and built on the Deepal S07 platform, the model builds on the previously released MAZDA EZ‑60 sold in China and Australia.

Exterior Design that Cuts Drag
The CX‑6e mirrors the sleek silhouette of the EZ‑60, featuring a distinct split‑type headlamp cluster, daytime running lights that trace the radiator‑grill outline, and a glowing Mazda emblem. Buyers can choose from seven paint finishes, including a “Nightfall Violet” that shifts hue with the viewing angle. Aerodynamic enhancements such as a reshaped bonnet, D‑pillar, rear spoiler and specially contoured door handles help maximise range per charge.

- 21‑inch aerodynamic wheels
- Streamlined rear LED light bar
- Integrated digital rear‑view mirror with blind‑spot alert
Cabin Technology and Comfort
Inside, Mazda replaces the traditional instrument cluster with a head‑up display (HUD) that projects key data onto the windshield. The centerpiece is a massive 26.45‑inch touchscreen that stretches across the dashboard in a single glass panel, supporting dual‑split view and gesture‑based controls.

Two trim levels are offered. The Takumi version is available with Warm Beige or Black Maztex upholstery, while the Takumi Plus adds Amethyst‑violet or White Maztex options. The rear bench seats three passengers, folds flat and includes electrically adjustable ventilation and cooling vents.

Performance, Battery and Range
Power comes from a rear‑mounted electric motor rated at 258 hp and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a 78 kWh LFP (lithium‑iron‑phosphate) battery pack. The single‑speed gearbox propels the CX‑6e from 0‑100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, reaches a top speed of 185 km/h and delivers an official WLTP range of up to 483 km. Fast‑charging capability is 195 kW DC, topping up from 10 % to 80 % in just 24 minutes.

Practical Space
With a 2,902 mm wheelbase, the cabin feels roomy. Cargo capacity starts at 468 L and expands to 1,434 L when the rear seats are folded. An additional 80 L storage compartment sits beneath the bonnet.

Pricing and Competition
The CX‑6e is slated for launch in mid‑2026 and will go head‑to‑head with the Tesla Model Y, Mercedes‑Benz GLC EQ and BMW iX3 in the European electric compact SUV segment. Pricing has not yet been confirmed.
