At the Brussels Motor Show 2026, Mazda unveiled its first all‑electric compact crossover, the Mazda CX‑6e, marking the brand’s official entry into the European EV market.

Design and Aerodynamics
The CX‑6e shares its sleek silhouette with the Chinese‑market Mazda EZ‑60, which debuted in April 2025. Its front end features a separated headlamp cluster that wraps around the daytime‑running light strip and a glowing Mazda badge. Buyers can choose from seven paint finishes, including a “Nightfall Violet” that shifts hue with the viewing angle, complemented by a darker‑toned A‑, B‑ and C‑pillar and rear‑quarter panels.

Every exterior element has been refined for aerodynamic efficiency – the bonnet, D‑pillar, rear‑view mirrors, door handles and rear spoiler are all sculpted to reduce drag and extend real‑world range.

Standard 21‑inch aero wheels echo the styling of the EZ‑60 and reinforce the sporty look. The rear carries a thin LED light bar that stretches across the width, flanked by a large illuminated Mazda logo.

Interior Technology
Inside, the cabin replaces the conventional instrument cluster with a head‑up display that projects a uniquely designed navigation graphic. The centerpiece is a massive 26.45‑inch touchscreen that runs as a single seamless panel – no fragmented displays. It supports dual‑split view and gesture‑control, allowing drivers to swipe through menus without touching the screen.

Digital rear‑view mirrors with built‑in blind‑spot alerts enhance safety while contributing to a cleaner silhouette. Two trim levels are offered: the Takumi with Warm Beige or Black Maztex upholstery, and the Takumi Plus that adds Amethyst‑purple or White Maztex options.

The rear seat area, built on a 2,902‑mm wheelbase, accommodates three passengers with electric‑adjustable, ventilated and cooled seats. A spacious 468‑litre trunk expands to 1,434 litres when the rear seats fold flat, and an additional 80‑litre compartment sits beneath the bonnet.

Powertrain and Performance
Power comes from a rear‑mounted electric motor delivering 258 hp and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a 78 kWh LFP (lithium‑iron‑phosphate) battery pack. The single‑speed gearbox propels the CX‑6e from 0‑100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, reaches a top speed of 185 km/h and offers a WLTP‑estimated range of up to 483 km.

Fast‑charging capability tops out at 195 kW DC, allowing the battery to jump from 10 % to 80 % in just 24 minutes.

Market Position and Launch Timing
Scheduled for a mid‑2026 launch, the Mazda CX‑6e will go head‑to‑head with popular European EVs such as the Tesla Model Y, Mercedes‑Benz GLC EQ and BMW iX3. Pricing details have yet to be disclosed.
