At the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, Mazda introduced the CX‑6e – its first fully electric compact crossover for the European market. Built on a joint venture platform with China’s Changan and based on the Deepal S07 architecture, the CX‑6e is the evolution of the Mazda EZ‑60, a model that debuted in China and Australia in April 2025.

Design and Aerodynamics
The CX‑6e mirrors the EZ‑60’s sleek silhouette while adding European flair. A split‑headlight layout frames an illuminated Mazda badge, and daytime‑running lights flow along the radiator‑grille edge. Buyers can choose from seven paint finishes, including the chameleon‑effect “Nightfall Violet” that shifts hue with the viewing angle, complemented by dark‑toned B‑pillars and rear fenders.

Every exterior surface has been fine‑tuned for drag reduction – from the reshaped hood and D‑pillar to the rear‑window profile, door‑handle inserts and a subtle rear spoiler. These aerodynamic tweaks help stretch the electric range per charge. The vehicle rides on 21‑inch aero wheels that share the same design language as the Chinese EZ‑60.

At the rear, a thin LED light strip spans the width of the liftgate, crowned by a bold, illuminated Mazda logo.

Interior, Tech & Comfort
Inside, Mazda offers two trim levels. The standard Takumi trim features warm‑beige “Warm Beige” upholstery or a sporty “Black Maztex” interior. The upgraded Takumi Plus adds an “Amethyst” violet option and a crisp “White Maztex” variant.

The steering wheel is a flat‑bottom, two‑spoke design equipped with a heads‑up display (HUD) that replaces the traditional instrument cluster, delivering navigation graphics directly in the driver’s line of sight.

The centerpiece is a massive 26.45‑inch touchscreen that spans the entire dashboard in a single, seamless panel. It supports dual‑split operation and gesture‑based controls for an intuitive user experience.

A digital rear‑view mirror integrates blind‑spot alerts, enhancing safety while maintaining a sleek cabin aesthetic.

With a wheelbase of 2,902 mm, the rear seat accommodates three passengers, each with an individual screen offering electric‑adjustable seating, premium ventilation and cooling functions.

Space & Practicality
The CX‑6e provides 468 L of cargo space, expanding to a generous 1,434 L when the rear seats are folded flat. An extra 80 L compartment sits beneath the hood for additional storage.

Powertrain & Performance
Power comes from a rear‑mounted electric motor delivering 258 hp and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a 78 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate (LFP) battery pack. The single‑speed transmission propels the CX‑6e from 0‑100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, with a top speed of 185 km/h.

On a full charge, the WLTP‑rated range reaches up to 483 km. Fast‑charging is rapid: a DC‑fast charger at 195 kW boosts the battery from 10 % to 80 % in just 24 minutes.

Market Position & Availability
Set to launch mid‑2026, the Mazda CX‑6e targets the same segment as the Tesla Model Y, Mercedes‑Benza GLC EQ and BMW iX3. Pricing details have not yet been disclosed.

Stay tuned for the official pricing announcement and pre‑order information – the CX‑6e could be the next big step for Mazda’s electric future.
