At the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, Mazda introduced its first fully electric compact crossover – the Mazda CX-6e. Developed in partnership with China’s Changan and built on the Deepal S07 platform, the CX-6e marks the brand’s bold entry into the European EV market.

Design language that blends sportiness with efficiency
The CX-6e inherits the sleek silhouette of its internal‑market sibling, the EZ‑60, but receives a European‑tuned front fascia. A distinctive split‑level headlamp unit frames a continuous daytime‑running light strip that follows the contour of the grille, while the illuminated Mazda emblem adds a premium touch.

Seven paint options are available, including the chameleon‑like “Nightfall Violet” that shifts hue with the viewer’s angle. Aerodynamic tweaks – reshaped hood, under‑body paneling, and a rear roof spoiler – reduce drag and help stretch each charge.

High‑tech cockpit and spacious interior
Inside, the traditional instrument cluster is replaced by a head‑up display (HUD) that projects navigation and essential data onto the windshield. The centerpiece is a massive 26.45‑inch touchscreen that runs as a single, seamless panel, supporting dual‑split screen mode and gesture‑based controls.

Two trim levels are offered. The Takumi specification features Warm Beige or Black Maztex upholstery, while the Takumi Plus adds Amethyst‑tone or White Maztex options. A three‑seat rear bench with integrated climate controls and a fold‑away screen provides flexibility for families or work‑mobile setups.

Performance, battery and range
Power comes from a rear‑mounted electric motor delivering 258 hp and 290 Nm of torque. Coupled with a 78 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate (LFP) battery pack, the CX-6e accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and tops out at 185 km/h. Mazda claims an official WLTP range of up to 483 km, with fast‑charging capability of 195 kW – charging from 10 % to 80 % in just 24 minutes.

Practical cargo space
The CX-6e offers 468 L of luggage capacity behind the rear seats, expanding to 1,434 L when the rear bench is folded flat. An additional 80 L storage compartment sits beneath the hood, perfect for smaller items.

Market positioning and upcoming launch
Pricing has not yet been announced, but Mazda aims to pit the CX-6e directly against the Tesla Model Y, Mercedes‑Benz GLC EQ and BMW iX3 in the highly competitive compact EV segment. Expected to go on sale mid‑2026, the model will be a key pillar of Mazda’s European electrification strategy.
