Mercedes‑Benz Vietnam has sparked excitement among off‑road enthusiasts with a fresh marketing push that hints at the official launch of two new‑generation G‑Class models – the entry‑level G 500 and the high‑performance AMG G 63.

What’s different this time?
For the first time the standard‑spec G‑Class (G 500) will be sold through authorized channels alongside its AMG sibling. Previously, only the ultra‑sporty AMG G 63 was available in the Vietnamese market.
G 500 – Luxury meets practicality
The upcoming G 500 will wear a striking Hyacinth Red paintwork, 19‑inch double‑spoke “Tremolite Grey” wheels with a diamond‑cut finish, and a protective grille for the front lamps. The package also includes the “Professional” roof‑rack accessories that underline the model’s rugged DNA.

Under the hood sits a 3.0‑litre inline‑six mild‑hybrid (MHEV) delivering 449 hp and 560 Nm of torque, with an extra 20 hp and 200 Nm from the electric motor when needed. This translates to a 0‑100 km/h sprint in 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h.
AMG G 63 – Pure performance
The new AMG G 63 retains its iconic 4.0‑litre V8 biturbo engine, now paired with a 48 V MHEV system that adds another 20 hp and 200 Nm for instant torque. Power peaks at 585 hp and 850 Nm, sending the SUV from 0‑100 km/h in just about 4.5 seconds.

Visually, the AMG variant continues the aggressive look with a black‑faced 22‑inch forged‑wheel set, AMG Night Package‑styled roof, front‑ and rear‑bumpers, and side‑mirror caps— all painted in matte black for a menacing stance.
Pricing and availability
According to the teaser, the G 500 will start at just over VND 9 billion, while the AMG G 63 will be priced above VND 12 billion. For comparison, the official Mercedes‑Benz Vietnam site currently lists the electric‑only G 580 EQ at VND 7.999 billion and the AMG G 63 at VND 10.899 billion.

How the new G‑Class fits the market
Introducing a more affordable, standard‑spec G‑Class gives Mercedes a solid foothold against other premium off‑road SUVs such as the Land Rover Defender 110 and Lexus GX 550, whose price tags sit in a similar range.
The G 500 targets buyers who love the G‑Class’s legendary boxy silhouette but don’t necessarily need the raw power of the AMG model, offering a more “approachable” entry point to the iconic brand.

What’s next?
While the teaser remains unconfirmed, industry watchers expect an official announcement later this year, with test drives and reservations opening shortly thereafter.
Stay tuned for the final specifications, dealer locations, and how you can secure your own piece of the G‑Class heritage.
