Mitsubishi has rolled out a strikingly fresh look for the Mitsubishi Triton in Thailand, introducing a redesigned front fascia that echoes the brand’s Xforce SUV styling. The update is limited to the entry‑level Triton Street – a compact Mega Cab variant aimed at urban drivers who need a practical but stylish workhorse.

New Front‑End Styling

The most eye‑catching change is the new grille and bumper set, which adopts a sharp, trapezoidal Xforce‑inspired pattern. Blacked‑out large lower panels and reshaped air intakes give the truck a more muscular, square‑jawed appearance despite its modest positioning.

Exterior Details

  • 17‑inch black‑painted alloy wheels
  • Halogen headlamps (no fog lights)
  • Body colour options: bright white, metallic silver, and deep gray, all accented with black trim
  • Standard black under‑cover panel and refined side vents

Interior and Equipment Level

Triton Street keeps the cabin functional and comfortable with cloth seats, three‑point front airbags, a simple two‑speaker audio system, and a 10‑inch central infotainment display. Additional convenience features include hill‑start assist and a forward‑collision mitigation brake system.

Powertrain & Performance

The powertrain stays unchanged from previous Triton generations. A 2.4‑liter turbocharged diesel delivers 148 hp and 330 Nm of torque, paired with a six‑speed manual gearbox. Rear‑wheel drive is standard and the only drivetrain option, but the truck is equipped with an active limited‑slip differential that helps distribute torque when a wheel loses traction.

Pricing in Thailand

In the Thai market, the Triton Street starts at 649,000 baht (approximately USD 18,400 or VND 544 million), positioning it as an affordable entry point for small‑business owners and city dwellers.

Strategic Outlook

Launching a fresh front end for a single trim raises questions about Mitsubishi’s long‑term plans for the Triton line. The current generation debuted in 2023, so a mid‑cycle facelift could be on the horizon as competition intensifies in the midsize pickup segment.
