Even though the Lunar New Year holidays have just passed, Vietnam’s automotive market is already buzzing with teasers of several new models slated for launch in early 2026.

VinFast expands its electric lineup
The Vietnamese automaker is reportedly preparing to unveil a family‑oriented version of its Limo Green EV, tentatively called Limo Home. The MPV receives a fresh exterior treatment—including 19‑inch wheels, LED “bird‑wing” headlights reminiscent of the VF 8 and VF 9, and power‑folding side mirrors—as well as a revamped interior with synthetic‑leather seats and a larger infotainment screen placed on the central console.
Inside the cabin, the traditional gear‑shift knob is replaced by a push‑type stalk behind the steering wheel, and a new set of multifunction buttons are added to the steering column. While pricing and launch dates remain unconfirmed, the Limo Home could challenge established family MPVs such as the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross and Suzuki Veloz Cross.

In parallel, VinFast may also roll out an upgraded version of the VF 3, dubbed VF 3 Plus. The upgrade focuses on added equipment rather than powertrain changes. Expected enhancements include electric‑adjustable and folding side mirrors, black‑out wheel arch mouldings, a rear‑view camera, and a redesigned steering wheel with integrated hands‑free call buttons—features first hinted at by the company’s TC2 concept.
The VF 3 still houses a 40‑horse‑power electric motor delivering 110 Nm of torque, paired with an 18.64 kWh LFP battery that promises roughly 215 km (133 mi) on a single charge. The base price, recently nudged from VND 299 million to VND 302 million, is expected to stay in the same ballpark.

All‑new Toyota Hilux 2026 arrives in Vietnam
Dealers have confirmed that the next‑generation Toyota Hilux pickup will start arriving in Vietnamese showrooms from January 2026. The new Hilux will be offered in three trims ranging from VND 668 million to VND 999 million and will be available with a five‑speed manual, a six‑speed automatic, or a fully automatic dual‑clutch transmission.
Beyond a refreshed exterior—featuring a larger touchscreen, upgraded air filtration, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto—the 2026 Hilux adds electric‑adjustable seats, a modern infotainment suite, and additional safety tech. The redesign aims to shift the model’s image from a work‑horse truck to a more urban‑friendly, tech‑savvy vehicle.

What this means for Vietnam’s car buyers
These launches underline a fierce competition for market share in Vietnam’s rapidly growing automotive sector. While exact pricing and availability are still being fine‑tuned, the presence of both a new electric MPV from the domestic champion VinFast and a fully updated pickup from Toyota suggests a diversified choice for consumers ranging from families to commercial users.
Stay tuned for official announcements, test‑drive events, and detailed specifications as the first quarter of 2026 unfolds.
