Porsche announced that 279,449 cars were delivered worldwide in 2025, a 10% drop from the 310,718 units shipped in 2024. Despite the decline, the German automaker stressed that its core philosophy remains “value over volume,” favouring a balanced product mix across all key markets.

Why sales fell

Matthias Becker, member of the Executive Board responsible for Sales and Marketing, said the slowdown was anticipated. He cited three main factors:

  • Supply shortages for the internal‑combustion 718 and Macan models.
  • Continuing weakness in China’s premium‑car segment.
  • A deliberate supply‑management strategy aligned with Porsche’s value‑first approach.

Additional pressures came from new EU cyber‑security regulations that limited the output of certain ICE models in Europe.

Regional performance

North America stayed Porsche’s biggest market, delivering 86,229 vehicles – essentially flat year‑on‑year.

Europe (excluding Germany) recorded 66,340 deliveries, down 13%, while Germany fell 16% to 29,968 units.

In China, deliveries slumped 26% to 41,938 cars, reflecting tougher competition in the luxury segment and an accelerating shift toward electric mobility.

New model highlights

The 2025 lineup featured the all‑new 911 Turbo S equipped with Porsche’s T‑Hybrid drivetrain, which attracted strong market interest. The Cayenne Electric, launched at the end of the year, also received positive feedback, underscoring the brand’s commitment to innovative electrified products.

Electrification gains ground

Electrified models accounted for 34.4% of all Porsche deliveries in 2025 – an increase of 7.4 percentage points versus 2024. Breaking it down:

  • 22.2% were pure battery‑electric (BEV) vehicles.
  • 12.1% were plug‑in hybrids (PHEV).

Europe saw a historic milestone: for the first time, electrified cars outnumbered ICE models, representing 57.9% of deliveries. Roughly one out of every three cars sold in Europe was fully electric.

The Macan remained the world’s top‑selling model with 84,328 units, a 2% rise, and more than half of those were electrified (45,367). In markets outside the EU, the traditional ICE‑powered Macan still sold alongside its electric variants.

Other segment results:

  • Panamera: 27,701 units (‑6%).
  • 911: 51,583 units (↑1%) – a new sales record.
  • 718 Boxster/Cayman: 18,612 units (‑21%) as production of the 718 line ends in October 2025.
  • Taycan: 16,339 units (‑22%) due to a slowdown in overall EV adoption.
  • Cayenne (all powertrains): 80,886 units (‑21%). The fully electric Cayenne Electric debuted globally in November 2025 and will begin deliveries in spring 2026.

Strategic outlook for 2026

Becker indicated that 2026 will focus on tightening the supply‑demand balance while sticking to the “value over volume” mantra. Porsche plans to cease production of ICE‑only 718 and Macan variants, concentrating on its three‑pillar powertrain strategy: internal combustion, plug‑in hybrid, and battery‑electric.

Investment will continue in bespoke customer experiences through the Exclusive Manufaktur and Sonderwunsch programs, ensuring that Porsche’s iconic sport‑driven DNA remains tailored to an ever‑more discerning clientele.

With electrification accelerating and a clear roadmap for the next decade, Porsche aims to inspire driving enthusiasts while meeting the evolving expectations of a global market.
