The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS, painted in iconic Guards Red, has hit Ho Chi Minh City with a price tag of VND 17.69 billion. Discover its specs, exclusive options, and why it’s a rare sight in Vietnam.

In August 2022 Porsche unveiled the all‑new 911 GT3 RS, a track‑inspired supercar that instantly captured the imagination of collectors worldwide. Built on the 992 platform, the RS version draws its styling cues from the legendary 911 GT3 R and 911 RSR race cars.

First sightings in Vietnam
After dazzling the streets during the 2024 Gumball 3000, the GT3 RS finally received Vietnamese licence plates at the start of 2026. The latest arrival, spotted cruising through Ho Chi Minh City, wears Porsche’s classic Guards Red paint and is the third RS confirmed on local roads.

Design and aerodynamics
The 911 GT3 RS boasts a wider, aggressively sculpted body, with many razor‑sharp lines that scream speed. Porsche has even removed the front luggage compartment, replacing it with a high‑tech cooling system borrowed from its race cars.

Standard wheels are lightweight aluminium alloys: 20‑inch at the front and 21‑inch at the rear. Buyers can opt for special finishes—Pyro Red, Satin Black or Indigo Blue—for an additional VND 40 million.

One of the most striking features is the active rear wing, which operates like an F1‑style DRS system. Drivers can adjust the downforce on‑the‑fly, creating up to 409 kg of force at 200 km/h and a massive 860 kg at 285 km/h.

Performance figures
- Engine: 4.0‑litre naturally‑aspirated flat‑six boxer
- Power: 525 hp (388 kW)
- Torque: 465 Nm
- Transmission: 7‑speed PDK dual‑clutch
- 0–100 km/h: 3.2 seconds
- Top speed: 296 km/h
- Nürburgring lap: 6:44.848 (third‑fastest production car at the time)
Interior and technology
The cabin comes standard with carbon‑fiber bucket seats, while an optional 18‑way Adaptive Sports seat adds electric adjustability. The steering wheel is fitted with rotary switches for driving mode, electronic balance, and traction control. Porsche also offers a range of personalization options for trim, stitching, and infotainment.

Pricing and availability
In Vietnam the base price of the 911 GT3 RS starts at VND 17.69 billion (approximately US$750,000). Adding full‑spec options—such as the coveted Weissach Package (which brings carbon‑fiber exterior parts and a reinforced chassis) could push the total cost above VND 20 billion.

According to Znews research, by the end of January 2026 at least four 911 GT3 RS units (992.1 version) have been imported: one in black, two in white, and the recently seen Guards Red model.

Why it matters
The appearance of the GT3 RS in Vietnam highlights the growing demand for ultra‑high‑performance cars in Southeast Asia. With its race‑ready engineering, limited production numbers, and eye‑catching red hue, the car is not just a vehicle—it’s a statement of prestige and automotive passion.
