The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS has turned heads in Ho Chi Minh City, arriving in the brand’s iconic Guards Red finish. This marks the third GT3 RS to roll onto Vietnam’s roads, underscoring the growing appetite for ultra‑high‑performance sports cars in the region.

Model Launch and Racing DNA
Unveiled in August 2022, the latest 911 GT3 RS draws direct inspiration from Porsche’s race‑proven 911 GT3 R and 911 RSR machines. While the car cruised past the Gumball 3000 rally in 2024, it only received its first Vietnamese registration in early 2026.

Design and Aerodynamics
True to its track pedigree, the GT3 RS features a broader body, sharp air intakes and a rear diffuser that together generate massive downforce. The traditional front luggage compartment has been replaced by a sophisticated cooling system borrowed from Porsche’s motorsport lineup.

Wheel options include ultra‑light forged aluminium multi‑spoke rims – 20 inches up front and 21 inches at the rear. Choosing the premium Pyro Red, Satin Black or Indigo Blue finishes adds roughly VND 40 million to the purchase price.

The GT3 RS in Guards Red arrives with the classic “GT3 RS” racing stripe that has adorned the model since 2003.

Measuring 4,572 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,322 mm in height, with a 2,457 mm wheelbase, the car is larger than the standard 911 Carrera, offering a more planted stance.

Although the optional Weissach Package – valued at about VND 2.7 billion – is not fitted, the package would have added carbon‑fiber exterior trim, front and rear axle balance bars and other lightweight enhancements.

A standout feature is the electrically controlled active rear wing, reminiscent of the DRS system found in Formula 1. Drivers can adjust the wing’s angle on the fly, fine‑tuning downforce to match current track or road conditions.

Interior and Driver Controls
The cockpit is purpose‑built for spirited driving. The steering wheel houses dedicated rotary knobs for selecting drive mode, electronic balance, traction control and suspension settings.

Standard seating consists of carbon‑fiber bucket seats; buyers may opt for the 18‑way Adaptive Sports seats, which can be electronically adjusted for maximum comfort and support. A high level of personalization is available throughout the cabin.

Powertrain and Performance
Under the rear‑mid engine sits a naturally aspirated 4.0‑litre flat‑six that delivers 525 hp at 7,600 rpm and 465 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven‑speed PDK dual‑clutch gearbox.

Performance numbers are blistering: 0–100 km/h (0‑62 mph) in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 296 km/h (184 mph). In 2022 the GT3 RS conquered the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:44.848, making it the third‑fastest production car at the time.

Aerodynamic testing shows downforce of 409 kg at 200 km/h, climbing to an astonishing 860 kg at 285 km/h, delivering exceptional grip on the most demanding circuits.

Pricing and Market Presence
In Vietnam the GT3 RS starts at VND 17.69 billion (approximately US$760,000). Fully loaded with every optional package, the price can exceed VND 20 billion.

According to Znews research, by the end of January 2026 at least four GT3 RS (992.1) units have been imported: one in black, two in white and the Guards Red example highlighted here.
