The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS has arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, priced at over VND 17.7 billion (~$760,000). Discover its specs and why collectors are eager. Read more now!

In August 2022 Porsche unveiled the latest generation of the 911 GT3 RS, a track‑focused supercar that instantly captured the attention of collectors worldwide. Inspired by the 911 GT3 R and the legendary 911 RSR race cars, the new GT3 RS combines aggressive aerodynamics with a stripped‑down, driver‑centric philosophy.

First sightings in Vietnam
After impressing crowds at the 2024 Gumball 3000 rally, the GT3 RS finally made its debut on Vietnamese roads in early 2026. The Ho Chi Minh City sighting featured a striking Guards Red paint finish – a nod to Porsche’s historic racing livery – and marked the third GT3 RS confirmed to be driving in the country.

Design and aerodynamics
The car’s wide‑track body is cut with bold lines that enhance downforce while reducing drag. The traditional front luggage compartment is omitted, replaced by a sophisticated cooling system borrowed from Porsche’s motorsport program. Lightweight multi‑spoke alloy wheels – 20‑inch at the front and 21‑inch at the rear – are offered in Pyro Red, Satin Black or Indigo Blue, each adding roughly VND 40 million (~$1,700) to the base price.

One of the most eye‑catching features is the electrically actuated rear wing, which works similarly to the DRS system found on Formula 1 cars. Drivers can adjust the wing angle on the fly, tailoring rear‑end downforce to suit the track or road conditions.

Performance specifications
- Engine: 4.0‑liter naturally aspirated flat‑six
- Power: 525 hp (390 kW)
- Torque: 465 Nm (343 lb‑ft)
- Transmission: 7‑speed PDK dual‑clutch
- 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph): 3.2 seconds
- Top speed: 296 km/h (184 mph)
- Wheelbase: 2,457 mm
- Overall dimensions: 4,572 × 1,900 × 1,322 mm (L×W×H)
During its 2022 Nürburgring test, the GT3 RS recorded a lap time of 6:44.848, making it the third fastest production car around the legendary circuit at that time.

Downforce and handling
At 200 km/h (124 mph) the active aero package generates roughly 409 kg (900 lb) of downforce, climbing to 860 kg (1,900 lb) when the car pushes 285 km/h (177 mph). The steering wheel features rotary switches that let the driver fine‑tune drive mode, electronic balance and traction settings, while the chassis incorporates a balanced suspension front and rear for razor‑sharp handling.

Interior and personalization
Standard interiors include carbon‑fiber bucket seats, while an optional 18‑way Adaptive Sports seat provides full electronic adjustment. Buyers can personalize a range of details, from carbon‑fiber trim pieces to bespoke stitching, creating a truly unique driving experience.

Pricing and market presence in Vietnam
The base price for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS in Vietnam starts at VND 17.69 billion (approximately US$760,000). Fully optioned, the price can exceed VND 20 billion (over US$860,000). Notably, the Weissach Package – a premium add‑on that includes extensive carbon‑fiber bodywork and additional chassis reinforcement – is unavailable, a package that typically adds near VND 2.7 billion (~$115,000) elsewhere.

According to Znews, by the end of January 2026 at least four GT3 RS units (992.1 chassis) have been imported: one in black, two in white, and the Guards Red example spotted in Ho Chi Minh City.

Why collectors are buzzing
With its race‑derived technology, limited availability, and eye‑catching red livery, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is quickly becoming a holy grail for Vietnamese supercar enthusiasts. Its blend of raw performance and Porsche’s storied heritage ensures that each unit will likely appreciate in value as the market for ultra‑high‑performance cars continues to grow.
