In August 2022 Porsche unveiled the latest generation of the 911 GT3 RS, instantly becoming a favorite among collectors for its race‑inspired styling and blistering performance.

Vietnam’s First GT3 RS Arrives in Guards Red
Earlier this month the newest 911 GT3 RS was spotted cruising the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, painted in the brand‑classic “Guards Red”. It is the third RS to roll onto Vietnamese roads, joining a black, two white units that have already been registered.

Design and Aerodynamics
The RS version pushes the 911’s dimensions outward, measuring 4,572 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,322 mm high, with a wheelbase stretched to 2,457 mm. The front luggage compartment is replaced by a race‑derived cooling system, while the rear features massive 21‑inch wheels (20‑inch up front) wrapped in lightweight multi‑spoke aluminum rims.

Optional paint finishes—Pyro Red, Satin Black and Indigo Blue—add roughly VND 40 million to the base price.

One of the most striking features is the active rear wing, electrically controlled much like the DRS system found on Formula 1 cars. Drivers can dial down the downforce for higher top speed or crank it up for maximum grip.

Interior and Technology
Inside, the cockpit is a blend of race‑ready ergonomics and Porsche’s signature luxury. Standard bucket seats are carbon‑fiber‑wrapped, with an optional 18‑way electrically adjustable Adaptive Sports seat. The steering wheel carries extra rotary switches that let the driver tweak driving mode, electronic balance, and traction control on the fly.

Powertrain
Under the hood sits a naturally aspirated 4.0‑litre flat‑six boxer engine delivering 525 hp at 7,500 rpm and 465 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via Porsche’s seven‑speed PDK dual‑clutch gearbox.

The RS accelerates from 0‑100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and tops out at 296 km/h. On the Nürburgring Nordschleife it posted a lap time of 6:44.848, making it the third quickest production car of its era.

Price and Options
In Vietnam the base price for the 911 GT3 RS starts at VND 17.69 billion (around US $735,000). Adding the full suite of optional equipment—such as the carbon‑fiber exterior upgrades found in the Weissach Package—can push the cost beyond VND 20 billion.

Unlike some of its European counterparts, the local spec does not include the Weissach Package, a €120,000 (≈ VND 2.7 billion) add‑on that introduces extra carbon‑fiber body parts, a rear‑axle stabiliser bar and a host of weight‑saving tweaks.

Market Presence
According to Znews, at least four 992.1‑generation GT3 RS models have been imported into Vietnam by the end of January 2026: one in Guards Red, two in white and one in black. Their arrival underscores the growing appetite for hyper‑performance machines among Vietnamese enthusiasts.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a first‑time supercar buyer, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS offers a rare combination of track‑derived technology and everyday road‑legal practicality—provided you’re ready to invest at the high‑end of the market.
