The newest generation of Porsche’s track‑focused 911 GT3 RS has finally hit the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, painted in the brand’s iconic Guards Red. This is the third unit of the 992.1‑series GT3 RS confirmed on Vietnamese roads, and it carries a price tag that tops VND 17.7 billion (around USD 750,000).

Design that screams performance
Inspired by the 911 GT3 R and 911 RSR race cars, the GT3 RS features a wider body, aggressive air intakes and a rear‑deck that sacrifices the normal luggage compartment for a functional cooling system derived from Porsche’s motorsport technology.

Standard lightweight alloy wheels measure 20‑inches up front and 21‑inches at the rear. Buyers can upgrade the finish to Pyro Red, Satin Black or Indigo Blue for an additional VND 40 million.

Aerodynamics and the Weissach Option
The model comes with Porsche’s signature aero package, delivering a downforce of 409 kg at 200 km/h and up to 860 kg at 285 km/h. While the optional Weissach Package – which adds carbon‑fiber exterior elements and additional chassis reinforcement – is available, it adds nearly VND 2.7 billion to the price and has not been selected for the Vietnamese example.

Powertrain and performance figures
Under the hood sits a naturally aspirated 4.0‑litre flat‑six boxer engine producing 525 hp and 465 Nm of torque. Mated to a seven‑speed PDK transmission, the GT3 RS rockets from 0‑100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and tops out at 296 km/h. In 2022 the car recorded a 6‑minute‑44.848‑second lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, making it the third‑fastest production model at the time.

Pricing and local market
In Vietnam the base price starts at VND 17.69 billion. Fully loaded with every optional extra, the cost can exceed VND 20 billion. According to Znews’ research, at least four 992.1 GT3 RS units have been imported by the end of January 2026 – one in black, two in white and the Guards Red example that drew the headlines.

What’s next for Porsche enthusiasts?
With the GT3 RS now part of the local super‑car lineup, collectors and track‑day fans can expect more dealer‑held events and performance workshops. The arrival of this limited‑run machine also signals a growing appetite for high‑performance European cars in Southeast Asia.
