The latest‑generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS, launched in August 2022, has turned heads in Ho Chi Minh City. Dressed in the brand’s classic Guards Red, the supercar is the third of its kind to roll onto Vietnamese streets and is being offered at an eye‑watering 17.69 billion VND (approximately $720,000).

Design inspired by the track
Borrowing cues from the 911 GT3 R and 911 RSR race cars, the new GT3 RS features a wider body, aggressive air intakes and a stripped‑down front luggage compartment that makes way for a sophisticated cooling system derived from Porsche’s motorsport technology. The car sits on ultra‑light forged‑aluminium wheels – 20‑inch at the front and 21‑inch at the rear – with optional finishes in Pyro Red, Satin Black or Indigo Blue, each adding roughly 40 million VND to the base price.

Advanced aerodynamics
A signature aerodynamic package gives the GT3 RS a footprint of 4,572 mm × 1,900 mm × 1,322 mm and a wheelbase of 2,457 mm, larger than the standard 911 Carrera. While the optional Weissach Package (valued at about 2.7 billion VND) is not fitted, the car still boasts an active rear wing and a DRS‑style front spoiler that can adjust downforce on the fly – generating up to 409 kg at 200 km/h and a staggering 860 kg at 285 km/h.

Performance figures
The naturally aspirated 4.0‑liter flat‑six produces 525 hp and 465 Nm of torque, routed through a seven‑speed PDK dual‑clutch gearbox and a rear‑wheel‑drive setup. Porsche claims 0‑100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 296 km/h. In 2022 the car lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:44.848, making it the third‑fastest production model at the time.

Interior and driver aids
Inside, the GT3 RS comes standard with carbon‑fiber bucket seats, while an optional 18‑position Adaptive Sports seat offers individualized comfort. The steering wheel is equipped with rotary switches for driving mode, electronic balance, traction control and suspension settings, allowing the driver to fine‑tune the car for road or track use.

Pricing and market presence in Vietnam
Listed at 17.69 billion VND, the base‑spec GT3 RS already sits above $720,000. Fully optioned models can easily surpass the 20 billion VND mark (over $815,000). According to Znews research, by the end of January 2026 at least four GT3 RS units (992.1 generation) have been imported: one in black, two in white and the Guards Red example currently on display.

Why it matters
Seeing a GT3 RS in Vietnam underscores the growing appetite for hyper‑performance cars in Southeast Asia. The model’s participation in 2024’s Gumball 3000 global rally further raised its profile, making the Guards Red specimen a coveted showcase of Porsche’s racing heritage and its expanding market footprint.

Whether you’re a collector, an enthusiast, or simply curious about the latest in automotive excellence, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS represents a blend of track‑ready technology and street‑legal luxury that few cars can match.
