Italian start‑up Hameedi Venturo has just green‑lit Project Origine – billed as the world’s first off‑road supercar. Backed by more than €150 million in committed funding, the company aims to prove that a low‑profile, track‑focused machine can also dominate the toughest terrain without turning into an SUV.
Concept that Defies Labels
Project Origine is neither an SUV, nor a crossover, and it isn’t a “raised‑ride” hypercar created for novelty. It is a pure‑performance car with a low stance and a wide track, engineered to operate where traditional hypercars simply cannot go. Think of it as an Audi RS Q e‑tron that can legally hit the highway, rather than a decorative off‑road version of the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato.
Suspension‑First Development
Instead of designing a chassis first and then adapting the under‑body for rough ground, Hameedi Venturo started with the geometry of the suspension system. Every element – body structure, component placement, and drivetrain layout – revolves around this “suspension‑centric” platform.
This reverse‑engineered approach lets the car achieve a generous ground clearance while preserving the sleek proportions, driving feel, and dynamics expected from a true supercar. The goal isn’t to build a vehicle that changes character on each surface; it’s to stretch the operational envelope without sacrificing high‑performance identity.
Engineering & Materials
The chassis blends carbon fibre and aluminium to handle extreme loads. Crucially, the suspension and exterior hardware are designed as sacrificial elements that absorb the harshest off‑road impacts, protecting the carbon core. The result is a sturdy safety cell that keeps repair costs under control.
Powertrain – A New V12
Going against the electrification wave sweeping the supercar segment, Project Origine will be powered by an all‑new naturally‑aspirated V12. While the engine’s origin and output figures remain under wraps, the manufacturer promises silky power delivery, razor‑sharp control, and an authentic mechanical soundtrack – all without electric assist.
Interior – Driver‑Centric Luxury
Rather than cocooning occupants in sound‑deadening material, the cabin focuses on tactile feedback and control. Premium surfaces are chosen to enhance the driver’s sense of connection while still offering comfort for long journeys.
Team & Heritage
Behind Hameedi Venturo are seasoned names from the high‑performance world. Co‑founder Jamal Hameedi previously contributed to the Ford GT and the Defender OCTA project. He is supported by Dr. Andreas Baenziger, a veteran of luxury and motorsport engineering, and Maximilian Szwaj, a former technical director on LaFerrari, Aston Martin Valhalla, and other contemporary halo cars.
Customer Involvement – The “I Venticinque” Programme
The brand has launched an exclusive “I Venticinque” initiative, inviting 25 selected clients to take part in the car’s development. Participants will receive early access, work alongside prototype teams, and experience the vehicle’s evolution under the most demanding conditions.
Production Timeline
Project Origine is still several years from the production line. The first deliveries are slated for 2030, with detailed specifications, pricing, and production numbers to be revealed as the project advances.
Stay tuned as Hameedi Venturo pushes the boundaries of what a supercar can do – on road, off road, and everything in between.
