Czech automaker Skoda has finally put a name to its highly anticipated seven‑seat electric SUV – the Skoda Peaq. Expected to hit showrooms in the summer, the Peaq converts the sleek Vision 7S concept from 2022 into a production‑ready family vehicle.

Design that blends practicality with a modern look

While the final look is still under wraps, early images reveal a boxy silhouette that stays true to the concept’s clean lines. The front end forgoes the traditional grille in favor of a smooth, sealed nose, and the signature T‑shaped LED light strips run across both the front and rear. Flat door handles and a fully covered bumper give the Peaq a contemporary, almost futuristic feel.

Built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform

The Peaq rides on the flexible MEB architecture shared across the Volkswagen Group, the same underpinnings that power the Skoda Enyaq, VW ID. Buzz and ID. 7. This modular platform allows Skoda to offer both rear‑wheel and all‑wheel‑drive versions, delivering up to 335 horsepower.

In its concept form, the vehicle was equipped with an 89 kWh battery that promised more than 600 km (WLTP) of range. Skoda says the production model will meet or exceed that figure, positioning the Peaq as a genuine long‑range option for larger families.

Premium pricing with value proposition

Skoda admits the Peaq will be the brand’s most expensive model, sitting above the Enyaq in the lineup. Nevertheless, it aims to offer a compelling price‑to‑features ratio when compared with rivals such as the Kia EV9, Volvo EX90 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.

Strong foothold in Europe, eyes on emerging markets

In Europe, Skoda’s electric models – the Enyaq and the compact Elroq – regularly rank among the top sellers, with the Elroq often holding the second spot in monthly EV sales. The Peaq is expected to reinforce Skoda’s momentum as EV adoption accelerates.

Beyond Europe, Skoda is expanding its footprint in India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The brand has already opened a showroom in Saudi Arabia and is planning local production in Asia, including a potential plant in Vietnam. A regional factory would cut logistics costs and help keep the Peaq competitively priced in fast‑growing markets.

What this means for buyers

For families seeking a spacious, environmentally friendly vehicle without the premium‑brand price tag, the Skoda Peaq could become a strong alternative. With a roomy three‑row cabin, a solid 600 km range, and the backing of Volkswagen’s proven electric technology, the Peaq looks set to make a splash when it arrives this summer.

Stay tuned for official specifications, pricing and preorder details as Skoda prepares to launch the Peaq worldwide.
