Built on Toyota’s dedicated eTNGA electric platform, the all‑new C‑HR+ arrives in Europe as the brand’s longest‑range crossover yet. With two battery choices—57.7 kWh and 77 kWh—the model delivers a WLTP‑certified range of up to 607 km (377 miles), the highest figure in Toyota’s current EV lineup.

Powertrain and Performance

The C‑HR+ is offered in three drivetrain configurations:

  • Front‑wheel drive (FWD) with either the 57.7 kWh or 77 kWh pack (range: 458 km / 607 km).
  • All‑wheel drive (AWD) – exclusively paired with the 77 kWh battery, delivering up to 548 km WLTP and a combined output of 343 hp. It rockets from 0‑100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, making it one of the sportiest Toyota EVs on the market.

Charging is rapid: a 150 kW DC fast charger lifts the battery from 10 % to 80 % in roughly 28 minutes. Toyota’s pre‑heat system ensures the same speed even at –10 °C, keeping cold‑weather charging practical.

Design and Interior

Visually, the C‑HR+ carries Toyota’s signature “hammerhead” front end, but without a traditional grille, emphasizing its electric nature. Although it’s about 150 mm shorter than the bZ4X, cabin space remains generous, offering ample legroom and headroom for rear passengers.

Inside, the crossover adopts Toyota’s latest cockpit layout:

  • A 7‑inch driver‑information display.
  • A 14‑inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • Standard 6‑speaker audio; an optional premium JBL 9‑speaker system for audiophiles.

Trims and Pricing

European buyers can choose from three trim levels:

  • Mid – FWD, 57.7 kWh battery.
  • Mid+ – Available as FWD or AWD, both with the 77 kWh pack.
  • High – AWD only, 77 kWh battery, and a towing capacity of up to 1,500 kg.

Pricing varies by market. In Germany, the C‑HR+ starts at €38,990 (about $45,000), with leasing options from €295 ($341) per month. In the United States, the model is simply called the C‑HR and launches as a 2026‑year trim with a starting price of $37,000 and an EPA‑estimated range of 466 km (290 miles).

Toyota’s EV Strategy in Europe

The C‑HR+ joins the bZ4X and the newly refreshed Urban Cruiser, completing a three‑model “electric SUV trio” that covers the entire European market segment:

  • Urban Cruiser – compact, practical city run‑around.
  • C‑HR+ – youthful, performance‑focused crossover.
  • bZ4X – spacious family SUV.

This lineup positions Toyota to compete across the full spectrum of SUV demand, from city commuters to family haulers.

What’s Next?

With its impressive range, rapid charging, and sporty dynamics, the C‑HR+ showcases how Toyota is shifting gears toward a fully electrified future. Keep an eye on dealer announcements for test‑drive events and pre‑order opportunities across Europe and North America.
