VinFast, after opening its $1 bn car plant, will fully fund the Manyingsal interchange on Indonesia’s Cipali highway, enhancing logistics and creating jobs. Discover more.

On 28 January 2026, VinFast Indonesia announced a strategic partnership with the Subang District Government and key infrastructure partner PT Lintas Marga Sedaya (PT LMS) to build the Manyingsal interchange on the vital Cipali toll road, linking Cikampel to Palimanan.

Why the Project Matters

The Cipali highway is one of Indonesia’s main corridors, serving a nation of roughly 287 million people. By funding an outright‑of‑the‑gate interchange, VinFast aims to streamline logistics, cut travel time, and spark economic activity in the Subang region.

VinFast’s Role and Investment Scope

VinFast Indonesia will act as the strategic investor, covering 100 % of the capital required for planning, permitting, construction, and any ancillary costs. The company will also coordinate with Subang authorities to secure all necessary approvals from Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing.

Partnership Structure

  • Subang District Government: Serves as the central coordinator, handling land‑use permits, environmental assessments, and the final hand‑over of the completed facility to the Ministry.
  • PT Lintas Marga Sedaya (PT LMS): Operates the Cipali toll road and will collaborate with VinFast on technical integration, ongoing operation, and maintenance of the new interchange.
  • VinFast Indonesia: Provides full financing, oversees design and construction, and ensures the project meets international quality and safety standards.

Timeline and Approvals

The three‑party agreement was signed on 14 January 2026 at the Km 115+500 marker of the Cipali corridor. The Ministry of Public Works gave its principle consent on 15 December 2025, allowing a three‑year window for completion. Once construction finishes and a Service License for Operation (SLFO) is issued, the land and infrastructure will be transferred back to the Ministry for state‑asset management.

Economic and Social Impact

VinFast estimates that the interchange will boost regional logistics efficiency, raise Subang’s competitiveness, and generate thousands of new jobs, reinforcing Indonesia’s broader industrialisation and modernisation agenda.

VinFast’s Growing Footprint in Indonesia

Less than two years after entering the market, VinFast has inaugurated a $1 bn automotive plant in Subang, rolled out a diversified model lineup, and expanded its service ecosystem—dealer networks, after‑sales centres, and a nationwide charging‑station grid built together with global partner V‑Green. The company also collaborates with leading banks and finance firms to offer attractive purchase options for Indonesian consumers.

Executive Quote

“In every market we enter, VinFast does more than invest—we become an integral part of the local socio‑economic ecosystem,” said Pham Sanh Chau, Managing Director of VinFast Asia. “Our commitment to ‘moving people forward together with the nation’ drives us to partner with authorities and communities, delivering lasting value and improved quality of life across Indonesia.”

The Manyingsal interchange marks a clear statement of VinFast’s long‑term confidence in Indonesia’s growth prospects and its willingness to lead infrastructure development alongside government partners.
