VinFast tops Vietnam’s auto market again with 175,099 units sold in 2025. See how Ford, Mitsubishi and Hyundai performed.

VinFast reclaimed its position as Vietnam’s best‑selling car brand in 2025, delivering 175,099 vehicles across the year. The flagship VF 3 compact SUV topped the lineup with 44,585 units, while the crossover VF 5 added another 43,919.

Toyota Holds Steady as the Top Internal‑Combustion Brand
Within the traditional gasoline segment, Toyota remained the leading marque, moving 71,954 units. The Yaris Cross and Vios were the biggest sellers, with 14,601 and 13,424 deliveries respectively.

Ford Secures Third Place with Strong Pickup and SUV Numbers
Ford posted 44,689 vehicles sold. The Ranger pickup led the market with 18,692 units, followed by the Everest SUV (13,056) and the Territory (12,786).

Mitsubishi’s Momentum: Xpander and Xforce Drive Growth
Mitsubishi ranked fourth, reaching 44,107 units. The popular MPV Xpander accounted for 19,891 sales, and the new Xforce SUV contributed 15,254.

Hyundai Slides Out of the Top Five
Hyundai’s total fell to 40,267, led by the Tucson (9,243) and Creta (9,046) SUVs.

Mazda Keeps a Firm Grip on the C‑Segment
Mazda sold 32,455 cars, most of which were the CX‑5 SUV (17,262 units), keeping it the segment leader.

Honda Relies on the City Sedan
Honda recorded 28,719 sales, with the City sedan delivering 10,899 units.

Kia Drops to Eighth Position
Kia’s volume reached 27,176, driven by the Seltos (6,577), Sonet (5,944) and Carnival MPV (4,756).

Suzuki’s Hybrid Push Still Limited
Suzuki sold 3,499 vehicles, 75 % of which are hybrids. The XL7 Hybrid led the brand with 2,633 units.

Niche Players: Peugeot and Isuzu
Peugeot’s SUV range moved 2,435 units, while Isuzu, after a modest 13 % increase, delivered 911 vehicles.

Overall, the Vietnamese automotive market shows a clear shift toward domestic manufacturers and electrified models, with VinFast’s resurgence underscoring the growing appetite for locally‑produced, technology‑rich vehicles.
