Hyundai has expanded its popular Venue subcompact SUV lineup in India with the introduction of the new HX5+ trim, alongside upgrades to the existing HX4 variant. These updates aim to provide customers with a wider range of choices and enhanced features within the competitive urban SUV segment.

New Venue HX5+ Trim: Bridging the Gap

The Hyundai Venue HX5+ is priced at approximately 9.99 lakh rupees (roughly $292 million VND), positioning it between the HX5 and HX6 trims. This new version arrives following the Venue’s upgrade late in 2025, incorporating valuable feedback from users regarding equipment and pricing.

What’s New on the Venue HX5+?

The HX5+ boasts a significant upgrade in features compared to the standard HX5. Key additions include:

  • Quad-beam LED headlights: Providing enhanced visibility.
  • Roof rails: Adding practicality for carrying extra cargo.
  • Wireless phone charging: Conveniently power up your device on the go.
  • Rear window sunshades: Offering added comfort for rear passengers.
  • Rear wiper and washer: Improving visibility in inclement weather.
  • Front center armrest with storage: Providing a comfortable and practical space.
  • Driver’s auto up/down window: Enhanced convenience for the driver.

These enhancements make the HX5+ a compelling mid-range option, offering a comprehensive feature set while remaining under the 10 lakh rupee price point.

Powertrain Options

The Hyundai Venue HX5+ is powered by a 1.2L Kappa naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing around 82-83 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque. It’s paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Currently, there are no options for a turbocharged engine or diesel variants on this trim, though they remain available on other Venue models.

HX4 Receives a Subtle Upgrade

Alongside the HX5+ launch, Hyundai has also made a minor upgrade to the HX4 trim. The HX4 now includes adjustable driver’s seat height, improving driving posture and visibility for the driver. All other features and configurations of the HX4 remain unchanged.

Competitive Landscape

With the addition of the HX5+ and the upgrade to the HX4, Hyundai continues to refine the Venue’s lineup, offering customers more choices in the highly competitive subcompact SUV segment. The Venue competes directly with rivals such as the Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon in the Indian market.

The Hyundai Venue remains a strong contender, offering a blend of style, features, and value for money. These latest updates further solidify its position as a popular choice for urban drivers.
