At the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, Mazda unveiled the Mazda CX‑6e, a compact pure‑electric crossover built together with Chinese partner Changan. The model is based on the Deepal S07 platform and represents the latest step in Mazda’s global EV strategy.

Design – Familiar Yet Fresh
Visually, the CX‑6e mirrors the look of the China‑only EZ‑60, featuring a split‑headlamp design that ties the daytime‑running lights into the front grille. Mazda’s illuminated logo adds a modern touch. Buyers can choose from seven paint finishes, including a chameleon‑effect “Nightfall Violet” that shifts hue with the viewing angle, and a darker‑toned A‑pillars, B‑pillars, C‑pillars and rear fenders.

Every external element has been refined for aerodynamics – the bonnet, D‑pillar, side mirrors, door handles and rear spoiler all help extend range per charge. The 21‑inch aerodynamic wheels are also shared with the EZ‑60, reinforcing the family resemblance.

Interior & Technology
The cabin embraces a minimalist, driver‑focused layout. Instead of a traditional instrument cluster, the CX‑6e offers a customizable HUD that projects key information onto the windshield. The centerpiece is a massive 26.45‑inch touchscreen that runs as a single, seamless panel. It supports dual‑split view, gesture controls and integrates the infotainment, navigation and climate functions.

High‑tech touches continue with a digital rear‑view mirror that includes blind‑spot alerts, and a sleek steering wheel with two‑spoke design and a flat bottom. Interior trim options vary by trim level: the Takumi specification offers Warm Beige or Black Maztex upholstery, while Takumi Plus adds Amethyst‑purple or White Maztex options.

With a 2,902 mm wheelbase, the rear seat provides a three‑seat layout with electronically adjustable seats, ventilation and cooling functions. Cargo capacity starts at 468 L and expands to 1,434 L when the rear seats are folded, plus an additional 80 L compartment under the bonnet.

Powertrain & Performance
Under the rear axle sits a 258 hp (190 kW) electric motor delivering 290 Nm of torque, paired with a 78 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack. The single‑speed gearbox propels the CX‑6e from 0‑100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, with a top speed of 185 km/h. Mazda claims a WLTP‑based range of up to 483 km on a full charge.

Fast‑charging capability is robust: a 195 kW DC charger can replenish the battery from 10 % to 80 % in just 24 minutes, making long‑distance trips practical.

Market Position & Availability
The Mazda CX‑6e is slated for a mid‑2026 release across European markets, positioning itself directly against the Tesla Model Y, Mercedes‑Benz GLC EQ and BMW iX3. Pricing has not yet been disclosed, but Mazda promises a competitive package that blends premium styling with everyday practicality.

Early reviews praise the CX‑6e for its airy interior, intuitive tech suite and efficient performance, hinting that the model could become a strong contender in the rapidly growing compact EV segment.
