Why the Numbers Fell

Matthias Becker, a member of Porsche AG’s Executive Board responsible for Sales and Marketing, said the slowdown had been anticipated. He explained, “After several years of record‑breaking deliveries, 2025 sees fewer cars on the road. The shortfall stems from limited supply of internal‑combustion 718 and Macan models, a softening demand in China for premium vehicles, and our deliberate supply‑management strategy that prioritises long‑term value.”

Regional Performance

  • North America: 86,229 units – remains Porsche’s biggest market, holding steady year‑on‑year.
  • Global bestseller: The Macan, with 84,328 deliveries, continued to anchor sales.
  • Europe (excluding Germany): 66,340 cars – down 13% due to supply gaps for combustion‑engine 718 and Macan models caused by new EU cybersecurity regulations.
  • Germany: 29,968 units – a 16% fall for the same reasons.
  • China: 41,938 cars – a sharp 26% decline as the luxury segment faces heightened competition, especially from electric‑vehicle rivals.

Electrification Gains

2025 marked a pivotal year for Porsche’s three‑pronged power‑train strategy (ICE, plug‑in hybrid (PHEV) and battery‑electric (BEV)).

Overall, 34.4% of all Porsche deliveries were electrified models, up 7.4 percentage points from the previous year. This includes 22.2% pure BEVs and 12.1% PHEVs, pushing the global BEV share past Porsche’s 2025 target of 20‑22%.

In Europe, electrified cars accounted for **57.9%** of deliveries – the first time electric power outran traditional engines. Roughly one out of every three cars sold was an all‑electric model.

  • Macan: Delivered 84,328 units, a 2% rise, with electric‑only versions making up 45,367 of those units.
  • Panamera: 27,701 units – down 6%.
  • 911: 51,583 units – a modest 1% increase and a new sales record.
  • 718 Boxster/Cayman: 18,612 units – down 21% as production ceased in October 2025.
  • Taycan: 16,339 units – down 22% amid a slower global EV rollout.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Becker outlined Porsche’s 2026 roadmap: “We will double‑down on balancing supply and demand under the ‘value over volume’ mantra. Production will be calibrated to the end of ICE‑only 718 and Macan models, while we continue to invest heavily in our three‑pronged power‑train portfolio.”

Porsche also plans to expand its bespoke programmes – Exclusive Manufaktur and Sonderwunsch – offering customers unprecedented personalization options.
