A fresh video from the Indian market has revealed Hyundai’s latest mid‑cycle facelift of the Accent sedan – the HX8 trim, positioned as the brand’s near‑luxury offering.

Premium‑packed interior
The HX8 steps up comfort with a 10.25‑inch central touchscreen that supports smartphone integration and Hyundai’s remote‑connect service, Bluelink. The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable in eight directions with memory, while the interior features auto‑dimming interior mirrors and a rain‑sensing wiper.

Built‑in dash cam functionality comes standard, a feature that is rapidly becoming common on new Indian models. Higher trims in the line will add a 360° camera, blind‑spot monitoring and a rear‑seat electric adjustment with a “Boss mode” setting.

Level‑2 ADAS and safety equipment
The facelifted Accent is equipped with a Level‑2 advanced driver‑assist system (ADAS) that includes forward‑collision warning, lane‑keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. Standard safety gear also comprises seven airbags, electronic stability control, hill‑start assist and parking sensors.

Powertrain choices
Two 1.5‑litre gasoline engines power the HX8. The naturally aspirated version delivers about 115 hp and 143 Nm of torque, while the turbocharged unit pushes roughly 160 hp and 257 Nm. Transmission options vary by market – a six‑speed manual, a four‑speed IVT, or a dual‑clutch DCT.

Subtle exterior refresh
Visually, the Accent receives a revised front grille, a new dual‑projector LED headlamp assembly and 16‑inch alloy wheels with a fresh design. The front and rear bumpers have also been tweaked to give the sedan a more contemporary stance.

How it measures up
With its upscale appointments and robust ADAS suite, the Accent HX8 aims to challenge rivals such as the Toyota Vios and Honda City, especially among buyers seeking a premium feel without a premium price tag.
