The newest generation of Hyundai’s flagship sedan, the Grandeur, was spotted on a test‑drive run earlier this year, hinting at a substantial mid‑cycle refresh set for 2027. International media captured the car under a discreet camouflage, yet enough details slipped through to reveal a bold design and tech overhaul.

Exterior Refresh

The most noticeable change is the introduction of a wider “Seamless Horizon Lamp” strip that runs across the front fascia, complemented by a fresh rectangular headlamp assembly that replaces the previous vertical units. While the rear design remains concealed under snow and protective wraps, expectations are high for a modernized bumper and lighting package.

Cabin‑Centric Technology

Inside, the upgrade centers on the brand‑new Pleos infotainment system, built on the Android Automotive operating system. A large, vertically‑mounted tablet‑style touchscreen dominates the centre console, paired with a compact digital instrument cluster positioned higher for optimal driver sightlines.

To accommodate the new layout, Hyundai has stripped away many physical buttons, favouring a streamlined software‑driven interface. As Chang Song, Hyundai’s spokesperson, explained to Carscoops, the goal is “full cloud mobility where every mode of travel is connected through software.”

Premium Touches Remain

Despite the tech‑forward shift, traditional luxury cues stay intact. The 2027 Grandeur continues to offer Nappa leather seating, genuine wood and aluminium trim, and a suite of high‑end features such as fingerprint authentication, augmented‑reality navigation, and a premium Bose sound system.

Powertrain Options

Under the hood, Hyundai retains its established engine lineup:

  • 2.5‑litre gasoline engine delivering 195 hp
  • 3.5‑litre gasoline engine delivering 296 hp
  • 1.6‑litre turbocharged hybrid system producing a combined 227 hp

A fully electric version is expected to arrive later, likely around 2027, built on Hyundai’s E‑GMP platform.

Launch Timeline and Pricing

The refreshed Grandeur is slated for an official debut in the first half of 2026 in South Korea, with an estimated price increase of about 2 million won. The pure‑electric variant will follow in 2027, expanding the Grandeur’s appeal to eco‑conscious buyers.

With its blend of sophisticated design, Android‑based connectivity, and enduring luxury appointments, the 2027 Hyundai Grandeur positions itself as a compelling alternative in the premium sedan segment.
