Vietnam’s traffic police have recently cracked down on a case of illegal car lighting. After receiving a public tip on social media, officials verified that a vehicle with licence plate 29E-6X2 had been fitted with non‑compliant front lights.
What Happened?
On the night of June 22, around 10 p.m., the driver was spotted driving on Phù Đổng Embankment in Hanoi with additional headlights that do not meet the standards set by the manufacturer. The traffic police from the Road Safety Department – Unit 5 summoned the driver for questioning.
Legal Findings
According to Article 13, Clause 3 of Decree No. 168/2024, installing extra front lights without approval is a traffic violation. The driver was issued an administrative fine ranging from VND 1 million to VND 2 million and had 2 points deducted from his driving licence.
