Ford Vietnam recalls nearly 800 Ranger and Everest SUVs due to a faulty rain-washer ECU. Check if your vehicle is affected and schedule a free repair today.
Ford Vietnam has launched a safety recall affecting 769 Ford Ranger and Ford Everest SUVs imported from Thailand. The vehicles were built at the AutoAlliance plant between 14 October and 22 October 2025 and share a common electronic control unit (ECU) that manages the front rain‑washer and windshield‑wiper system.
What the recall covers
The recall targets the rain‑washer ECU, which in some units can allow water to seep into the electronic housing. When this happens, drivers may notice one or more of the following issues:
- Continuous spraying of washer fluid even when the switch is off
- Weak or non‑functional washer jets
- Incorrect wiper arm angles or intermittent movement
- Complete loss of the wiper and washer functions
These symptoms can appear intermittently or persist until the component is replaced.
How Ford discovered the problem
Ford engineers identified the defect during routine quality‑monitoring procedures. The issue was flagged as part of an ongoing effort to improve component reliability across the brand’s global lineup.

Remedy for owners
Ford Vietnam has authorised all official dealerships to inspect the affected vehicles and replace the faulty ECU at no cost to the owner. The inspection and replacement process typically takes less than one working day, although some dealers may need extra time depending on their service schedule.
There is currently no official “do‑not‑drive” order for the recalled models, but the company strongly encourages owners to contact their nearest Ford dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service appointment.
Impact on the Vietnamese market
Both the Ranger pickup and the Everest SUV are among Ford’s best‑selling models in Vietnam, alongside the midsize Territory SUV. By the end of May, Ford had sold 6,134 Rangers—including 1,251 imported variants—and 5,283 Everests, all of which are Thai‑built imports. These figures keep the Ranger and Everest at the top of their respective segments in the country.
While the recall affects less than 1 % of the total units on the road, the proactive response underscores Ford’s commitment to safety and customer satisfaction in the Vietnamese market.
What you should do next
If you own a 2025‑model Ford Ranger or Everest, check your vehicle identification number (VIN) against the recall list on Ford’s official website or contact your local dealer immediately. Scheduling a free ECU replacement will ensure your wiper and washer systems operate reliably, especially during the rainy season.
