The electric vehicle landscape just got a lot more daring. At the Auto China 2026 exhibition, iCar—the innovative sub-brand of the Chery Group—unveiled its latest vision of mobility: the Robox 2026 Concept. This isn’t just another SUV; it is a rugged, high-tech powerhouse designed to redefine how we traverse challenging terrains without a human hand on the wheel.

A Design Language That Breaks the Mold

True to its name—a blend of “Robot” and “Box”—the Robox embraces a bold, monolithic aesthetic. Its styling is unapologetically geometric, featuring a blocky silhouette and a rugged typography style reminiscent of the Tesla Cybertruck.

The exterior is packed with functional and futuristic details, including:

  • Advanced Lighting: Semi-circular headlights paired with a dual-LED daytime running light strip for a signature look.

This means the interior is envisioned without a traditional steering wheel or pedals, transforming the cabin into a mobile lounge where passengers can relax while the AI handles the navigation.

Beneath its rugged skin, the iCar Robox is a technical marvel. Built on the all-new i-Swift 3.0 platform, the vehicle utilizes a cutting-edge 1,000V electrical architecture. This allows the Robox to support DC fast charging speeds exceeding 1,000 kW, placing it in direct competition with BYD’s high-end Flash Charging technology.
