As Chinese automakers roll out massive mid‑year price cuts, Japanese brands are stepping up with their own promotions to protect market share during the seasonal slowdown.
Subaru slashes price on the Forester SUV
Subaru has launched a limited‑time offer on the 2.0‑litre Forester. The iL Eyesight trim now comes with a cash discount of VND 260 million (about US$10,800) plus an upgraded electric tailgate and premium accessories. After the discount, the price drops from VND 1.099 billion to VND 839 million.
The 2.0 iS Eyesight version receives a VND 310 million (≈US$13,000) reduction, falling from VND 1.199 billion to VND 889 million. Buyers also benefit from an extended five‑year warranty with unlimited mileage. This clearance deal applies to the Thailand‑imported Forester stock, which is limited in quantity. Subaru Vietnam is now shifting to Japanese‑imported Foresters priced between VND 1.299 billion and VND 1.399 billion.
Honda offers 100% down‑payment waiver on City and 50% on BR‑V and HR‑V
Starting in early June, Honda introduced a down‑payment subsidy for three models: the Honda City sedan, the BR‑V compact SUV, and the HR‑V crossover. The City, a B‑segment sedan, enjoys the most generous incentive – a 100% waiver of the down‑payment, translating to a price reduction of roughly VND 49‑56 million (US$2,000‑US$2,300).
Both the BR‑V and HR‑V receive a 50% down‑payment discount on their L and G trims. In cash terms, a BR‑V L or G buyer saves about VND 33‑35 million (US$1,400‑US$1,500). For the HR‑V, the G trim price falls from VND 699 million to VND 665 million, while the L trim drops from VND 750 million to around VND 713 million. Additionally, Honda provides a one‑year brand‑specific insurance plan for HR‑V G and BR‑V L purchases made in June.
Mitsubishi introduces service‑cost rebates
In a surprise move, Mitsubishi announced a service‑cost subsidy program for June and July 2026. All Mitsubishi owners who service their vehicles, replace air‑conditioner filters, windshield wipers, or clean the condenser will receive a 30% discount on parts and labor.
The discount on oil‑change and oil‑filter packages is set at 10%, while brake‑pad, tire, and battery replacement services enjoy a 15% reduction.
