Kia Vietnam teases the new Sportage facelift, featuring fresh LED styling and hybrid powertrains. Discover specs, pricing and book a test drive today.
Kia Vietnam has just posted a short video on its social channels hinting at a major launch slated for early June. The clip only reveals the new LED light signatures at the front and rear, but enthusiasts quickly identified the model as the upcoming facelift of the popular Kia Sportage compact SUV.

What’s New in the Facelift?
After a comprehensive mid‑cycle refresh released globally in November 2024, the Sportage is poised for another update that aligns it with Kia’s latest design language seen on its electric SUVs in Western markets.
Exterior Updates
The most noticeable change is the redesigned headlamp cluster. Kia has introduced a sleek, angular LED pattern that mirrors the styling of its newer electric crossovers. A larger, more prominent grille remains, flanked by the signature Star Map lighting – a subtle nod to the 2026 global Sportage.

Rear lighting also adopts a fresh LED layout, giving the SUV a more modern and cohesive look.
Interior Revamp
Inside, the cabin receives a near‑complete overhaul. The previous trapezoidal digital instrument panel is replaced by a clean, rectangular display that pairs seamlessly with a larger central touchscreen. New air‑vent controls are positioned on the rear seats, and the centre console has been fully redesigned for a more intuitive layout.

Powertrain Options
Kia is expected to bring a range of electrified powertrains to the Vietnamese market:
- Plug‑in Hybrid (PHEV): A 1.6‑litre turbocharged GDI engine paired with a 72 kW electric motor, delivering up to 268 hp and available with all‑wheel drive.
- Mild‑Hybrid (HEV): The same 1.6‑litre turbo engine combined with a 47.7 kW motor, producing a combined 234 hp.
- Conventional Gasoline: A standard 1.6‑litre turbo unit for markets that prefer a traditional setup.
These options mirror the configurations offered in other key markets, giving Vietnamese buyers a choice between efficiency and performance.
Pricing and Availability
While official pricing has yet to be announced, Thaco – Kia’s local distributor – currently offers three Sportage trims ranging from VND 819 million to VND 1.009 billion. The upcoming facelift is expected to sit within this price band, with the hybrid variants likely positioned at the higher end.
Stay tuned for the full launch details in early June, and be ready to schedule a test drive once the new Kia Sportage hits showrooms across Vietnam.
