Earlier this year, a driver identified as L.T.G was stopped by traffic police (CSGT) for entering a motorcycle lane despite clear signage. The passenger, K.C.T, claimed to be L.T.G’s driving instructor and posted a video of the incident on social media with the caption, “Anh là K.C.T, em có biết anh không” (“I’m K.C.T, do you know me?”).
Following public outcry, both men were summoned by the traffic police. K.C.T admitted his comments were inappropriate and issued an apology. L.T.G was fined a total of VND 19.5 million and lost 4 licence points for two violations: ignoring traffic signs and disobeying police directions.
