While Porsche has offered convertible GT3-powered cars in the past, the previous 911 Speedster was a limited-edition rarity defined by its manual top and a chopped windshield. The new GT3 S/C evolves this concept for the modern driver, introducing a convenient electric roof system and a standard windshield for better daily usability.

Efficiency meets luxury here: with a single press of a button, the fabric roof can be raised or lowered in approximately 12 seconds, provided the vehicle is traveling at speeds under 50 km/h.

Engineering Excellence and Lightweight Design

Adding a complex electric roof mechanism typically adds significant bulk, but Porsche’s engineers have kept the weight gain to a minimum. The GT3 S/C is only 30 kg heavier than the Speedster, weighing in at 1,507 kg for the US market and a lean 1,497 kg for the European version.

Beyond the roof, this is the first 911 convertible to utilize a double-wishbone front suspension.
