Maserati unveils the UltraFino Flying Tourbillon, a luxury watch priced higher than its own SUV. Explore the stunning details and price here.
In a bold move that blends high-performance automotive engineering with haute horology, Maserati has ventured beyond the driver’s seat. While the Italian luxury brand has recently faced a challenging market—with global sales dipping to just 7,900 units last year—they are doubling down on their commitment to the luxury lifestyle sector.
A Price Tag That Defies Logic
Rather than focusing solely on boosting vehicle delivery numbers, Maserati has partnered with the prestigious watchmaker Bianchet to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its iconic trident logo. The result is the UltraFino Maserati Flying Tourbillon, a timepiece that redefines the meaning of “exclusive.”
The most shocking aspect of this release is the pricing. Retailing at 81,616 Swiss Francs (approximately $103,400 USD), this watch is officially more expensive than the entry-level Maserati Grecale SUV, which starts at $84,500 in the US market. To put this into perspective, the UltraFino costs significantly more than a 2026 Corvette Stingray Coupe ($72,495) or a 2025 Porsche 718 Cayman ($86,335).

Automotive Engineering for the Wrist
The UltraFino is not merely a branded accessory; it is a masterclass in materials science, drawing direct inspiration from Maserati’s racing DNA:
- The Aesthetic: The skeletonized dial mimics the intricate design of the MCPura’s alloy wheels, finished in a striking AI Aqua Rainbow hue.
- The Chassis: The watch case is crafted from high-density carbon fiber, mirroring the monocoque chassis used in professional racing cars for maximum strength and minimum weight.
- The Movement: It features the UT01 movement, a marvel of miniaturization measuring only 3.85 mm in thickness, yet capable of withstanding shock forces up to 5,000 G.
- The Heart: The Tourbillon cage, forged from Grade 5 titanium, is designed to evoke the power and precision of the Nettuno engine.
The Ultimate Status Symbol
Exclusivity is the cornerstone of the UltraFino. With only 100 pieces produced globally and a feather-light weight of just 36 grams (excluding the strap), it is designed specifically for the ultra-wealthy collector who already owns everything.
To launch the timepiece, Maserati and Bianchet hosted exclusive driving experiences in Geneva. Guests were given the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the MCPura before being introduced to the breathtakingly priced watch.
It seems that as the traditional automotive market becomes more volatile, Maserati is betting that its clientele is more than willing to spend a fortune on a luxury that fits on their wrist, even if it costs more than the car they drive to the boutique.
