Xpeng P7 introduces a unique ‘Road Rage Relief’ feature via AR HUD. Discover the specs and tech of this Tesla rival. Read more!
Ever felt the urge to tell another driver exactly what you think, but knew it was better to keep your cool for safety? Xpeng has found a high-tech, harmless solution for those moments of frustration on the road.
Vent Your Frustrations with ‘Road Rage Relief’
The new Xpeng P7 introduces a quirky yet innovative feature called “Road Rage Relief.” This function allows drivers to virtually “throw” emojis at other vehicles via the car’s interface. The catch? Only the sender can see the emojis.
Designed as a psychological outlet, this feature helps drivers release tension after a heated encounter or a frustrating traffic incident without escalating the situation in the real world. It is a digital safety valve for the modern commuter.
Cutting-Edge Cabin Tech and AI
This innovative feature is powered by a massive 87-inch Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD), which is the centerpiece of the vehicle’s “Tech Island” interior. While the hardware is provided by Huawei, the sophisticated software is developed entirely in-house by Xpeng.

To handle the immense processing power required for these features, the P7 is equipped with three Turing AI chips. Two of these chips are dedicated to advanced autonomous driving functions, while the third is solely focused on optimizing the in-cabin experience and user interface.
Performance and Design: A Serious Contender
Beyond the novelty of its software, the Xpeng P7 is a formidable competitor to the Tesla Model 3 and the high-end versions of the BYD Seal. The vehicle boasts a highly aerodynamic body with a drag coefficient of just 0.201 Cd, contributing to its efficiency and stability at high speeds.
The P7 has grown in size compared to its predecessor, featuring a length of 5,017 mm, a width of 1,970 mm, and a height of 1,427 mm, all built upon a spacious 3,009 mm wheelbase.
Power and Range Specifications:
- Range Options: Depending on the configuration, the P7 offers ranges of 702 km, 750 km, and a long-range version reaching 820 km, utilizing an advanced 800V electrical architecture.
- Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): Equipped with a 362 hp electric motor and a choice of 74.9 kWh or 92.2 kWh lithium ternary batteries.
- All-Wheel Drive (AWD): Adds a 223 hp front motor for a combined output of 586 hp, enabling a blistering 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.7 seconds.
Industry-Leading Fast Charging
One of the most impressive technical achievements of the P7 is its 5C fast charging capability. This allows drivers to add up to 525 km of range in just 10 minutes of charging, significantly reducing “range anxiety” and making long-distance travel more viable than ever.
The market response has been overwhelming. According to reports from CarNewsChina, the second-generation P7 saw over 10,000 orders placed within the first seven minutes of its release in China in August 2025, signaling a massive appetite for Xpeng’s blend of performance and playful technology.
