The 2027 Mercedes S-Class gets a major facelift with a new V8, Superscreen infotainment and premium comforts. See the full specs now!

Exterior Design Refresh

Mercedes‑Benz has re‑imagined more than half of the S‑Class for 2027. The front now sports a bold three‑pointed star LED matrix, using Digital Light micro‑LED technology that boosts illumination by up to 40%. The grille is 20% wider and flanked by a continuous star logo that even glows on the hood for the first time.

At the rear, the styling takes cues from the freshly launched E‑Class, with horizontal LED light bars linked by a sleek chrome strip across the trunk lid. Chrome‑plated trim on the doors, side panels and dual exhaust tips adds a touch of artisanal finish.

Wheel and Lighting Upgrades

Standard 19‑inch multi‑spoke alloy wheels come as default, while larger optional designs are also available. All models feature advanced lighting signatures, including three‑star LED taillights and adaptive headlights that respond to driving conditions.

Superscreen Interior – A New Digital Experience

Inside, the cabin is dominated by the new “Superscreen” layout. Three separate displays replace the singular Hyperscreen: a 12.3‑inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.3‑inch central touchscreen, and a secondary 12.3‑inch screen for the passenger. The latest MBUX interface runs on this hardware, bringing AI‑driven assistants, seamless Google Maps integration, and native apps such as Disney+ and YouTube.

Rear‑seat passengers enjoy two 13.1‑inch entertainment screens and detachable MBUX remote controllers, turning the back row into a true mobile lounge.

Powertrain Options

  • S580 – 4.0 L V8 twin‑turbo mild‑hybrid, 530 hp, 750 Nm torque, 0‑100 km/h in 3.9 s.
  • S450 – 3.0 L inline‑6, 376 hp, 500 Nm torque.
  • S500 – 3.0 L inline‑6 (tuned), 442 hp, 600 Nm (640 Nm with Over‑torque), 0‑100 km/h in 4.3 s.
  • S580e – Plug‑in hybrid combining the tuned 6‑cylinder engine with an electric motor, total 576 hp, 750 Nm torque. Expected electric‑only range > 74 km.

All variants are paired with a 9‑speed automatic transmission and Mercedes‑Benz 4MATIC all‑wheel drive.

Technology & Comfort Features

  • Standard Airmatic air suspension with optional E‑Active Body Control for adaptive ride dynamics.
  • Heated seat belts, multi‑zone climate control, and a new fragrance‑diffusing air‑purification system.
  • Rear‑axle steering available as a premium option, increasing steering angle from 4.5° to 10°.

Personalisation and Pricing

Mercedes offers an extensive palette of over 150 exterior colours and 400 interior finishes, letting buyers tailor the S‑Class to their taste.

The current S‑Class starts at roughly US$120,850, so the upgraded 2027 model is expected to launch at a higher price point. Detailed specifications and official pricing will be disclosed closer to the year‑end launch.

Stay tuned for the official unveiling and be among the first to experience the next evolution of luxury motoring.
