Hyundai is recalling 568,576 Palisade SUVs in the US due to a potential third‑row side‑airbag malfunction. Verify your VIN and schedule a free repair now.

Hyundai Motor America announced a massive recall affecting 568,576 Palisade SUVs sold in the United States. The recall targets a possible defect in the third‑row side‑curtain airbag that could prevent it from deploying correctly during a crash.

What’s the issue?

The side‑curtain airbags are designed to protect occupants in the rear rows by cushioning the roof and side structures. In certain crash scenarios, the airbag may fail to inflate as intended, reducing protection and increasing the risk of injury. The flaw is linked to the airbag modules supplied by Autoliv, a leading Swedish safety‑parts manufacturer.

Scope of the recall

The affected vehicles are recent‑model Palisade SUVs produced over the last few years. Hyundai will contact owners directly once a repair solution is finalized. Repairs will be performed at authorized dealerships at no cost to the customer.

Fix plan

Hyundai is still engineering a technical remedy for the airbag modules. When the fix is ready, dealers will replace or calibrate the affected airbags and verify correct operation. No specific timeline has been disclosed yet.

Additional recall – instrument cluster display

In conjunction with the airbag action, Hyundai is recalling another 41,651 vehicles for a separate issue: a faulty instrument‑cluster screen that may dim or display incorrect information. This problem will be resolved through a software update, eliminating the need for hardware replacement.

What owners should do

Drivers are urged to check the official Hyundai website or the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) portal using their VIN to confirm whether their Palisade is part of the recall. Until repairs are completed, owners should exercise extra caution when transporting passengers, especially in the third row.
