British automaker Bentley has taken the next step in its Beyond100+ electrification roadmap by announcing the brand’s very first all‑electric model – the Luxury Urban SUV. Slated for an official launch at the end of 2026, the vehicle will expand Bentley’s portfolio beyond its traditional V8‑powered grand tourers and the hefty Bentayga SUV.

Design & Exterior

The new SUV carries a sleek, urban silhouette that measures under 5 metres in length, putting it in the same size class as the recently revealed Porsche Cayenne Electric. While still larger than a typical city crossover, it sits a step below the Bentayga in terms of presence.

  • Front: Signature Mulliner‑inspired LED headlights reminiscent of the Batur concept.
  • Grille: Closed, aerodynamic façade similar to Bentley’s EXP 15 concept.
  • Rear: Lower deck height than the Bentayga, with a slimmer LED taillight array echoing the latest Continental GT.

Interior & Technology

Inside, Bentley blends its heritage of craftsmanship with cutting‑edge tech borrowed from other VW Group marques:

  • Curved OLED digital cockpit sourced from Porsche, delivering crisp graphics and customizable layouts.
  • Multifunction control cluster inspired by the Audi Q3, offering tactile feedback and intuitive navigation.
  • Premium leather and hand‑stitched wood trim that retain Bentley’s hallmark luxury feel.

Powertrain & Performance

While the exact powertrain details remain under wraps, the Luxury Urban SUV is expected to share its electric architecture with the Porsche Cayenne Electric, leveraging a high‑capacity battery pack and dual‑motor setup for strong torque and all‑wheel drive capability.

In addition to the pure‑electric version, Bentley will introduce hybrid variants labelled “High‑Performance” and “Ultra‑Performance,” targeting customers who crave extra power without compromising efficiency.

Charging & Range

Fast‑charging capability is a standout feature: the battery can gain roughly 160 km (about 100 miles) of range in under seven minutes when connected to a high‑power DC charger. This rapid top‑up aligns with Bentley’s aim to make electric luxury practical for daily urban use.

Production & Sustainability

The historic Crewe plant in the United Kingdom has undergone a carbon‑neutral retrofit. The new electric SUV will be assembled in the iconic A1 building, the oldest structure on the site, symbolising Bentley’s blend of tradition and future‑forward thinking.

Launch Timeline

Late 2026: Official unveiling and first public drives.
Early 2027: First customer deliveries commence.
2027 onward: Hybrid “High‑Performance” and “Ultra‑Performance” models roll out alongside the pure‑electric version.

With this move, Bentley pushes its electrification target of a fully electric line‑up to 2035, a slight postponement from earlier plans but a clear signal that the marque is committed to a sustainable, high‑luxury future.
