Suzuki has officially unveiled the latest Across for the European market, underscoring its confidence in product quality and its ongoing partnership with Toyota.

Shared Platform with Toyota RAV4

The new Across is essentially a tuned variant of the Toyota RAV4 Adventure. By sharing the underlying platform and the acclaimed plug‑in hybrid drivetrain, Suzuki preserves the reliability and stability of the original while adding its own brand touches.

Exterior Styling and Dimensions

Visually, the model adopts the rugged look of the RAV4 Adventure. A refined front grille makes room for the Suzuki badge without major structural changes. The SUV measures 4,600 mm in length and rides on 18‑inch dark‑gray alloy wheels. Buyers can choose from four understated colours: Massive Gray, Ever Rest Silver, Super White and Attitude Black.

Tech‑Rich Interior

The cabin retains the RAV4’s layout, with the only noticeable Suzuki signature being the steering‑wheel emblem. Highlights include a 12.3‑inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.9‑inch central touchscreen, and a heads‑up display that projects key information onto the windshield. Modern conveniences such as wireless phone charging and advanced driver‑assist systems are also standard.

Plug‑in Hybrid Powertrain

The Across is offered exclusively with a plug‑in hybrid system, abandoning a conventional self‑charging hybrid option. Power comes from a 2.5‑litre gasoline engine paired with two electric motors, delivering a combined 300 hp. The output is managed by an e‑CVT and sent to all four wheels via an E‑Four system. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 6.1 seconds, a figure that, while slightly slower than the RAV4’s theoretical 5.8 seconds, still places the vehicle among the most dynamic in its segment.

Competitive Landscape

The Across debuted in the Netherlands and is slated to arrive in other European countries later this year. In doing so, it will go head‑to‑head with established rivals such as the Honda CR‑V, Mitsubishi Outlander and Volkswagen Tayron.

Different Across for Asia

Interestingly, Suzuki has also launched an Across in Asian markets that is based on the Maruti Suzuki Victoris platform—a completely different size and architecture. This dual‑name strategy showcases the brand’s flexible approach to regional demands.

Stay tuned for more updates on pricing, availability and test‑drive opportunities as Suzuki expands the Across lineup across Europe.
