At the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS), BMW unveiled the all‑new iX3 Neue Klasse (code NA5), the first production model built on the German brand’s brand‑new “Neue Klasse” design language and technology platform. The electric SUV is already on sale in Thailand as the iX3 50 xDrive M Sport, and industry insiders say a Vietnamese launch is highly likely.

Price and Warranty in Thailand – A Benchmark for Vietnam
The Thai market lists the iX3 50 xDrive M Sport at 3,599,000 baht, roughly VND 2.9 billion. The price includes a four‑year unlimited‑kilometre warranty and an eight‑year/160,000 km battery guarantee – a package that could be mirrored for the future Vietnamese rollout.

Dimensions and Exterior Design
Measuring 4,782 mm in length with a 2,897 mm wheelbase, the new iX3 retains the core dimensions of the current X3 but optimises interior space thanks to its electric architecture. Its minimalist exterior showcases a low drag coefficient of 0.24, Adaptive LED headlights and an Iconic Glow illuminated grille, giving the SUV a sleek, modern presence.

Digital‑First Interior
Inside, BMW has stripped away almost all physical buttons in favour of the Panoramic iDrive system. The cockpit features a 17.9‑inch central touchscreen that flows into a panoramic display beneath the windshield, complemented by a 3D head‑up display on the driver’s line of sight. This all‑digital approach creates a spacious, future‑ready cabin that feels more like a living room than a traditional car interior.

Powertrain, Battery and Range
The iX3 50 xDrive is powered by BMW’s sixth‑generation eDrive system on an 800 V architecture. Two electric motors combine for 469 hp and 645 Nm of torque. What really stands out is the 113.4 kWh lithium‑ion battery, which delivers a WLTP‑tested range of up to 805 km – comfortably exceeding the 730 km distance between Hanoi and Da Nang.

800 V Fast Charging and V2X Capabilities
The 800 V platform enables up to 400 kW DC fast‑charging. BMW claims the iX3 can go from 10 % to 80 % in just 21 minutes, or add roughly 372 km of driving range in a 10‑minute charge. The vehicle also supports bidirectional charging (V2L, V2H, V2G), allowing it to power external devices, a home, or even feed electricity back to the grid.

Safety and Driver Assistance
Standard safety equipment includes the Driving Assistant Plus suite and Parking Assistant Plus. Active protection features comprise emergency brake assist, lane‑keeping aid, and a centre airbag designed to mitigate front‑row collisions.

The Bangkok International Motor Show runs until 5 April 2026 and hosts a dedicated die‑cast model exhibition from 10‑12 July 2026 at ICONSIAM’s seventh floor. Collectors can browse everything from common replicas to rare, limited‑edition models, providing a unique networking hub for Vietnamese enthusiasts.

What This Means for Vietnamese Buyers
With the iX3 already selling out in some markets due to strong demand, the prospect of a Vietnamese launch is generating buzz. The combination of a VND‑level price near 3 billion, an ultra‑large digital cockpit, and a range that easily covers the country’s longest road trips positions the iX3 as a compelling option for both luxury and eco‑conscious drivers.
